Also, as you can see, the Esprit is one of the worst cars to drag due to the Renault gearbox. A safe shift is a sloooowwwww shift. I also have pics but they are not great; I've seen better detail on an etch a sketch. Stay tuned for an E-Gear LP640 time

The Slow 1-2 shift really hurts. When i used to race Ajglobal in his G if we went first gear he could hold me off till like the top of 4th. If we went 2nd gear roll, the Esprit would pull him right away.

Def, Esprits don't publish very good numbers. Although the times between shifts aren't bad. (0-30, 40-60, 70-100)

VBUGKING Report post Posted April 13, 2008 New SL65 Renntech best on the 60-130mph. Previous best was 8.45sec. Today weather was 10 degrees colder (47 degrees), I had only 1/4 tank of gas (vs 60%), I did the runs with the esp off starting from 50mph, and I was in sport mode while letting the auto do all the shifting. I also had other runs of 7.8, 8.0, 8.2, 8.3 seconds. Best is shown in picture below

Yes I know it's a bit colder here, we had a cold front come in yesterday as it was up to 80 degrees this past week. You need to get some 60-130mph runs in your SLR before you move so we have something to compare when you run in better conditions. I know the times will be weak being at high altitude and hot weather, but do it anyways so we have something to compare later. VBUGKING Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Well Allan, you keep putting down the Renntech Sl65 and I keep wanting to take it out and get better times. Conditions were 60 degrees and very sunny today with 32% humidity. First up was 60-130mph runs. I made several sub 8 second runs the last being the best at 7.48 seconds. See graph below for that. After putting my car through the ringer on the 60-130mph runs, I thought I would try some 0-100 mph runs. Traction was pretty decent with the warmer temps, yet it was still cool enough to keep the engine happy. I only had to do 2 runs to demolish all of my previous 0-60mph, 0-100mph records in the car. As usual the runs were done on street tires (PS2s). 0-10mph .4 sec 0-20 1.1 0-30 1.7 0-40 2.4 0-50 3.0 0-60 3.6 0-70 4.4 0-80 5.4 0-90 6.3 0-100 7.4 When I looked at the graph for more exact numbers I found the following: 0-100mph was 7.38 seconds 60ft time was 2.050 @ 35.53 330ft time was 5.20 @ 78.31 1/8 (660ft) time was 7.68 @ 102.53 also various screenshots below of the driftbox screens. VBUGKING Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Hey Allan, do you think there is any coorelation between a fast cars 60-130mph and 0-100mph? The cars I have tested seem to get pretty similar times for those 2 ranges.

For example a newer G technicly needs 3 shifts while say SECC Joes car could do the run with no shifts.
Mr. Vroom Report post Posted April 15, 2008 I think alot depends on gearing.... For example a newer G technicly needs 3 shifts while say SECC Joes car could do the run with no shifts. The 06 G and up only needs two shifts, 4th gear runs up to a little over 130mph. Lets get that Vbox over to SECC joe!
VBUGKING Report post Posted April 15, 2008 The 06 G and up only needs two shifts, 4th gear runs up to a little over 130mph. Lets get that Vbox over to SECC joe! In my car, 2nd gear only goes up to about 70 mph, so I have found that its best to start the 60-130mph runs in 3rd and go with only the 3rd to 4th gear shift at around 100mph. Now in Bernards car, it may be worth starting in 2nd as he has taller tires and 2nd gear may not run out until about 75mph+.
