There is no shame in being financially responsible, you will have a lot more fun when you are stress and care free.

This is the best takeaway message.

If you're going into the purchase worying about depreciation on these cars, then you have no business buying them.

That is truly one of the silliest things I have ever heard. Let me know when you don't care that yours depreciates to $0 and I will come pick it up and bring you a cupcake, to boot.

Not worrying about depreciation, dents, scratches, etc, etc, makes for a great relaxing experience.

Actually - this is the silliest thing I've ever heard. Who walks out to their car of this capacity and notices a dent or a scratch and says "Oh well, I don't care". :eusa_wall:

I think he didn't mean it literally. Obviously it would suck to have dent/scratches, damages on your vehicle. But from what I understand, he is saying is that being in a position to be able to repair any unforeseeable damages on the car will be hell of a lot more comfortable than someone who is in no financial position to be purchasing a car they can just barely afford to keep.

Ill get one when they are depreciated, and they will depreciate as a % worse than the Murcielago.

+1 I started a thread a year ago talking about this and everyone said I was crazy.

You are talking about vandalism, anybody would be pissed if that occurred, Of course I would also be, what I meant by my statement was using the car care free not babying it, if I went for a bit of a bash having a blast and it happened that I put some dents in it, I wouldn't really care, because it's a toy I use to get enjoyment out of it, that's the difference.

I have to respectfully disagree. I can afford my car no problem with no questions asked. However, I (again personally) think it is silly to not consider depreciation at all. I like to keep my accounts as healthy as possible and that isn't to keep money to afford the car, it is simply being finically responsible. Again, I intend on respectfully disagreeing.

Money matters to almost everyone, and especially self made successful people. There's always exceptions but most appreciate good residuals and hate being ripped off with crappy trade in numbers. Even if you can set the car on fire before you buy a new one, it's GREAT when the dealer brings you a new car and gives you what you paid for the old one without negotiation. Think of the opposite scenario and the trouble it's made for McLaren.

1- AVENTADOR IS RARE

2- IF YOU USE IT IT DEPRECIATES

I present to you: depreciated assets and the MAXIM of: D.I.L.I.G.A.F. (does it look like I give a FUK)

I treat all my cars with utmost care... I SERVICE ONLY AT DEALERSHIPS! I detail ever Wednesday; I have never had a single scratch; dent or even a ding on any car... My Aventadors are QUADRUPLE wrapped and each one had MORE THAN 50,000 MILES!!! Both achieved 200 miles per hour; Both saw Deserts and Snow and rain and cross country rallies.

Thank God above for all the wonderful and thrilling good times. My aventadors have been sat on and in by world leaders; Clergy; Celebrities; porn stars and touched by thousands.. yes thousands... NOT A SCRATCH!

I loved my cars and I used them ... for the best times in my life.

I got fuking ass reamed when I sold them and ... no I don't like that ... BUT I DONT CARE..I love to drive them and to drive in Rallies

Oh well... I have incredible "world travel and unique rallies in store for my SV and my SV Roadster!!!

I am Car 01 in Cannonball Run and Goldrush and I will do at least 1 giro and 30,000 miles by fall

I like the aventador to be exclusive and it is....

I never see one on my daily commute (only mine)

I BLAME INSTAGRAM.. FACEBOOK AND THE NET.

WHEN I GREW UP WE WAITED MONTHS FOR A GLIMPSE OF A LAMBO IN a magazine... I heard of the Diablo and didn't see a picture for 2 years (kept looking at stationary store magazine rack)

bUT IF YOU LOOK AT ANY TEENAGERS INSTAGRAM FEED or Facebook its filled with hundreds of pictures of Aventadors and Big asses in thongs... In reality ... the only time the average person will never see that much ass and that many aventadors ...

is if that person is ME... or possibly a few of you guys

but by sharing and re-sharing aventador pics it seems like the "what comes next" crowd is already thinking the Aventador is Everywhere!! it is not. btw my ig feed today on my phone is Chiron Bugatti and ASS and there are not 1000 blue Chiron out there... although it seems like it. and only a portion of the women look like ig models in this world .... (and it is only that portion of women I will chose to associate with)

with great success our lives can become an IG feed (all supercars and Ass) and that is what I worked so hard to achieve.

The Aventador is rarely seen on the road in real life. Miami "showcases cars in certain "leisure spot areas and I am there every weekend... but its not a normal sampling of what is on the road...

the aventador is rare but that depreciation... It is what it is and you don't hear me complaining or curbing my behavior.. I will use my cars

DILIGAF The Aventador is an Exciting and wonderful car that has filled my life with so many great times and memories!

Well I can assure you that it will never depreciate to $0. And you don't need to be a prick, if your opinion differs. I can afford the car and actually don't give a shit what it depreciates to because for me, it's a miniscule fraction of my net worth. If you have to wring your hands in worry about what it's worth down the road, then I stand behind what I said: you have no business making the purchase. Of course, no one wants to lose money but only an idiot thinks that cars are solid investments. Perhaps you're that idiot? You want to act like a prick, I'll treat you like one. Thank you, sir.

I personally don't like taking depreciation hits--it's just part of the car game to me. I avoid buying cars that l feel are going to drop like a rock.

I only worry about depreciation when the car sits in the garage. I don't care about it when I drive it as these moments are priceless to me :)

First possible Aventador in the $200K's? I don't think I've seen one yet, but who knows. Seems like a great deal. I'd drive the crap out of it.

I know of two that have sold recently in the high $200k's.. Both had around 7000-8000 miles. I'm sure there have been more as well... But I agree that IMO, it's a great deal as long as they check out.
