cake Report post Posted April 23, 2017 A friend just texted this photo. He was at The Home Depot (local) this morning and saw this car. He knows we are "car people" and asked if the initials "EB" mean anything LOL The guy with the adjacent minivan (I assume that's a minivan) was giving the Veyron a jump. Not exactly commonplace around these parts!
IanMan Report post Posted April 23, 2017 Thanks for sharing Carol! This is not something you see every day. A buddy of mine was telling me how he went to the Porsche Experience center in LA and needed to jump his 911 GT3 and asked the staff there for help, (mind you that they have a full garage where they work on the rarest of Porsches) and they told him know. Ended up getting a guy with a minivan to help him. I can't believe this guy with the Bugatti would park so close to other cars though! abolfaz Report post Posted April 23, 2017 Thanks. Feel free to delete this thread. There's a bug replica floating around south Florida that's so good that a very well known local exotic car dealer was ready to write a $1mm check for it on the spot thinking it was real. The guy who owns it is afraid to have it out in public fearing that vag will find out about it and sue him.

You'd think they'd have it on a lift first and understand the difference. And what's the point of having a fake if you can't enjoy it (assuming the owner isn't bothered by poseur status). If you can't drive it and are afraid of being sued - why bother? Interesting he's not afraid of being found out as a fake - but worried about being sued. Silly on many levels. IanMan Report post Posted April 23, 2017 To be fair, I was on my phone. I still don't get why people build replicas. Unless you're truly building the unobtainable, I.e. 250 GTO, the thousands of hours you spend building one of these contraptions you could invent a groundbreaking device, build a business, etc. Such a waste. The fake is part of a large collection of very expensive real cars, you'd never think the guy would have a fake in his garage. I know another guy who has a large collection of dusenbergs among other cars, for reasons I can't understand he also has a poor cgt replica? I know another guy who has a large collection of dusenbergs among other cars, for reasons I can't understand he also has a poor cgt replica?maybe it's the same reason women wear a cz instead of their real diamonds. The worry of losing a real gem diminishes enjoyment of wearing it (especially if traveling) - so they put on a fake and can be carefree. It can be very hard to tell if it's a "good" fake. Maybe it's like that with cars for some people? The fake is the beater that goes to car shows or out to dinner or whatever. If you collect cars and have plenty of the genuine article - I can't think of another reason why you'd want a fake. It would be interesting to learn why he did it.
