  1. Too many people trying to predict brand and engineering decisions based on VAG corporate strategy. Unless you guys sit on the board or know someone on the board I don’t see how this can be method to predict future decisions that the VAG automotive sub brands are making on their new models.
  2. I think superleggera reference is not as applicable here as we are possibly seeing the very last of the NA V10 engine as the huracan and performante goes hybrid as soon as next year from the rumors I hear from my sources. I think the performante is more similar to the 458 Speciale as the last of the NA model if they go hybrid electric motor or forced induction like the Urus.
  3. Your post just made me change my mind on the urus. I was also looking at new navigator and fully loaded one is 100k which is insane value!!!
  4. You can thank VW diesel gate for all this mess
  5. The new rules are that car has to be released before September 2018 to bypass the particulate filter which will affect any new models coming next year. This means it will be very difficult to keep the V10 NA engine without going hybrid to pass European emissions so if the STS version does come it will be hybrid or turbo V8 like the Urus. We are seeing the last of V10 production models and every single European car company is scrambling including Porsche with their GT3 and GT2 RS as recently announced where there will be NO 2019 models due to recent emissions standards.
  6. The Aventador has a hard top so it looks way sexier with the top up.
  7. Call me crazy but the soft top completely ruins the lines of the car I would never downgrade to the spyder.
  8. Correct HP production is cut short due to new emission testing standards and the HP will have shorter production cycle for this reason and be forced into hybrid engine. The spyder gets announced next month and I heard there is one more year of production for both spyder and coupe for HP. End of an era for NA engines.
  9. It is coming next year as there are new emissions law that has affected the entire VAG and also most of the European car manufacturers.
  10. Let’s just say my sources is very reliable on hybrid and RWS.
  11. The new HP replacement will however be hybrid and no longer be full NA which means it will lose some sound and that naturally aspirated engine response and linear power. Call me old school but I would rather have a NA V10 over a hybrid in a Lamborghini.
  12. This time it’s a bit different as this is probably the last NA V10 before it goes Hybrid so the rules have changed a bit. The HP also beat million dollar hyper cars like the 918 and is the best car you can buy with a NA motor.
  13. Next version of HP will be Hybrid and have particulate filters etc.
  14. Just heard that Performante will have limited one more year of production and new version coming next year with hybrid engine which means this could be the last of the NA V10 engines folks. The fact that the production is now quite limited will mean that it will increase the raririty of the HP and potentially increase resale long term. The change in engine is due to the new emissions that takes into effect September 2019 where even the GT3 will face the same fate with end of the NA engines.
