  1. You may well be right, cars move around and Lamborghinis are international commodities after all. However, whether there is one, or more than one, there was definitely a green LM002 waggon in South Africa in the 1990s, as it was registered there and attended club events. I will see if I can dig out the photos of it, but I fear they may be in storage in New Zealand. Anyone else got some piccies of the car in SA?
  2. I think there were actually three LM002 waggons built. One is green, and resides in South Africa, then there is the silver one which is featured on this thread, and I believe there is also a white one on the Middle East somewhere. I don't think Lamborghini actually built these speacials, but they were converted by an Italian coachbuilder later on. I have photos of the white car being built, but unfortunately they are in storage back in my native New Zealand, rather than with me here in England, so I won't be able to put them up. Any further input about these cars is most welcome, as I particularly like the specials and one-offs. I've been luck enough to have seen the 350GTV, 350GTZ, Marzel, (which I've sat in), Athon, Genesis, and the Flying Star II, which I also drove briefly. Anyone know where the 350GTZ is now?
  3. Many thanks for sharing these, it's really interesting to see how the whole car looks at last. It is difficult to know if it is the Countach or the Diablo engined version of the LM002 as the hood scoops appear quite high, but perhaps not high enough for the Countach engine. What was the publication the images appeared in?
  4. Well, I've finally found it, the picture which shows, in part at least, the two-door LM002. It was in a Dubai showroom and the picture came from the guy who was selling the red SE30. Sorry it's taken a while, but sorting out a job application and other life issues have taken a priority.
  5. There is a pick-up LM002, I've seen a photo, which shows the car in part, parked next to a red SE30. I'll try and dig it out and post it. Have no idea what the chassi number is though.
  6. I have a registry which I've been keeping as a hobby for over 24 years, and it has 1371 cars from all over the world in it. Of these 265 are Countachs, which as far as I know for the most part are still existant, and of these 100 are US cars. However, I could, if I had the time, boost that 100 US cars to twice that number with some research. I seem to recall hearing that the US received by far the biggest percentage of the production quota (40% is a figure that floats around in my head for some reason, but I may be wrong and am open to correction). Of the production quota of all types of Lamborghinis, the biggest percentage apparently went to California and I'm guessing Countachs would have been no different. A friend of mine recalled that during a trip to Miami that he saw about ten Countachs on the streets there in a day, so that state must have got a pretty big allocation as well.
  7. Yep, did that, just covering my bases:-)
  8. Does anybody have the link for this still? I missed saving it before it expired and was wanting to download the pictures of the car.
  9. No, I don't beleieve it was. I have an article from the British magazine Autocar dated 23rd April 1965, which refers to the US debut of Lamborghini at the New York Motor Show of that year. In the brief mention about the stand, the article refers to the fact that two cars were shown, along with a "4-litre, 400b.h.p. racing engine", all of which drew a "fascinated crowd". Also from Road & Track of July 1965, there is a picture of the Lamborghini stand at that show with probably 2 350GTs on it, or maybe a 350GT and a 400GT, both are big windowed cars and the one facing the camera has single headlights. Hope this helps. P.S I have a register which I run as a private hobby for fun. It has 1350 cars from around the world and I'm always looking out for more. If you have a car/cars could I please include them? Many thanks. Paul
  10. You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar, many thanks for reposting some images, the car is brilliant!!!!!
  11. Well that sucks, never mind, such is life. Any chance they can be posted again???
  12. I'll have a dig through the stuff I have and see what there is. Be in touch soon.
  13. Can anyone tell me why the photos aren't coming out on this page, all I've got is little boxes with small red crosses in them:-( I'm new to this game so if I'm doing something wrong can someone enlighten me please? Many thanks
  14. Hello, this is my first ever blog on any type of forum, so I hope I get this right!! The picture is, as has already been correctly identified, a pre-production Espada prototype. Lamborghini made at least three, possibly four pre-production Espadas. One was gold, one was a light metallic blue, and one was silver-white. The dashboard shown is, I'm reasonbly certain, from the light blue car, which had a black dashboard and a beige cloth seats with black leather or vinyl backing. Each of the prototypes had slightly different trim from each other, and from the later production cars. The light blue car was used in a lot of publicity shots, and the gold and silver-white cars were shown at Geneva in 1968, with the gold car on Lamborghini's stand, and the silver-white car on Bertone's stand. I know the shot is not of the gold car as that was tested by Autocar in their 13th June 1968 issue and the dash and steering wheel are different. However, several magazines used the publicity shots of the light-blue car and that dashboard is the same as the one in the picture you posted. Unfortunately the view of the bonnet is not really clear enough to identify the car exactely, but I hope that helps a bit more. I have no idea what the chassis or engine numbers of any of these cars are, as some detailed photos I've seen of the engine bay of at least one of the pre-production cars do not show any VIN plate anywhere. Does anyone know where any of these pre-production cars landed up? On another note, I have been running a register as a hobby for 23 years and have 1347 cars from around the world in it. It's a strictly private hobby, although I help Glen Kohut out, as well as Lou Herrin with the Islero register and the French Jarama Registry with VIN numbers and photos. Anybody who owns a Lambo, I would love to get the details. Finally, I promise, I also collect magazine articles from around the world and have a large stack of swap material, anyone interested is welcome to contact me.
