As usual, going to car week in August....best car show on earth!
Plan on driving up with Italian Stampede (usually leaves Thursday, Aug 17) or Fuel Run (last year left on Wed) again.
Friday will do Quail (best show of all) - entered my CGT this year so already in with tickets
Sat likely Concorso Italiano and/or Exotics on Cannery Row or Historic Races at Laguna
Sun likely Pebble Beach

Problem is I usually reserve Monterey Plaza Hotel early, but there normal rooms are now fully booked!
Anyone recommend other hotels? How is Hyatt Regency? or the Hideaway in Carmell? Maybe staying in Carmel would be cool this time.
Going with at least 6 other couples so we need rooms!

As discussed we're coming over as well. But will just be driving up in a rental. Not sure what we're doing accommodation wise yet though

That said I seen some pictures of people on this website and they do not look like they have evolved properly.

And when I speak to them, I feel that they buy into a world, not only into a product. So it’s also a lifestyle, an idea they see behind that. And they enjoy the car as something that is rewarding them for the hard work they’re doing, or a dream that came true after, say, saving for 20 years.

Wellllllll.......if I get the Perfomante in time, I will drive that in the Stampede. In an alternate world, I would drive the SV and my wife would drive the Perf but she's not into that idea...shoot she'd rather fly to Monterey lol. If you remember last year my neighbor and his wife (Lamboprincess) drove up both their yellow Av and red Av SV in the Stampede, that was cool 😎.
Yes, shipping the CGT to be displayed at Quail.

I stayed at the Hyatt last year as did DrSVRoadster. I would recommend it. One nice feature is that Mecum has their auction on the property so if you have interest in that it's right there. My room was ~$750/night last year for a standard king bed room with a nice balcony.

Looking forward to another great year. I agree that Quail is the best show of all, that's the only event I consider a "can't miss" for Car Week unless you're a first-timer!

I need a place too. I stayed with Lambo Club/Italian Stampede last year.

Is there anything closer to the downtown suggested?

I believe the Stampede reserves rooms every year at the Hilton? Heard those rooms are not that great. It sucks that most decent places are booked already and it's 6 mos. away. Monterey Plaza is really an excellent hotel and location on Cannery Row but I slacked and didn't book it a year in advance. Shit. Now they only have executive rooms for $1700/nt

Who wants to go in and buy a hotel in the area? We could make our money back from that weekend alone lol.gif

I'm really wanting to make this one. Being that it may very well be my last year in CA I want to be able to drive the DBS around for more than a day. You guys planning on doing a LP drive?
