IanMan Report post Posted February 16, 2017 I found these while out checking out instagram... sorry it is a repost for post in the General Section by a007apl. That McLaren-esque rear decklid is quite interesting to say the least! I love the look but feel it is somewhat of a rip off. Plastique999 Report post Posted February 16, 2017 FYI our display car was white and it looked hot! what color was the car you guys saw? Wow that would have looked hot! White would contrast very nicely with the forged carbon. Also looks great with Italian livery stripes. I love the matt pearl white on the Pirelli edition Aventador. There will be quite a few whites ordered. We saw Verde Mantis which looked good but that particular green is quite common on the Huracan. The Ad Personam I am going with will go with bronze wheels. Any bright color will contrast nicely with the forged carbon. I think black will just blend and lose the FC effect. But it will look sinister! I did not think McLaren when I saw the car. Plenty of cars have decklid scoops, they even exist on the back of refrigerators McLaren didn't invent them

Speed Demon Report post Posted February 16, 2017 I believe the 720S will be one of the most technically advanced machines of its era, beyond the Perfomante. It's what Mclaren does best. But it won't be as raw as the Perf. If the 675LT was $350k then the 720 will likely be higher, maybe $375-399k? I can tell you that if this is the case, the Perfomante will be considerably cheaper (and more fun and way better exhaust symphony IMO). Lower price with more fun factor (all theory until we get behind the wheel). The 720S is NOT a replacement for the 675LT (that is coming later). The 720S is a replacement for the 650S and McLaren says base msrp will be close to $285K. So optioned out, the 720S and the Performante will be very close in price. 720S will be faster in a straight line and on low downforce tracks. The McLaren's negatives are it won't be as raucous and loud and won't have the personality of an Italian exotic, imo.

Fortis Report post Posted February 17, 2017 awesome from Lamborghini, they have really stepped up due to fierce competition. The engineering is genius, very simple and it works, very few moving parts, I can not wait to experience it. I can just imagine the excitement from idea, development to real life results, what a great job to have.
Frank-Goodson Report post Posted February 18, 2017 Lamborghini engineers designed and patented ALA, hopefully they will not "sell" it to VAG VAG owns the technology. They don't have to buy it.
Fortis Report post Posted February 18, 2017 VAG owns the technology. They don't have to buy it. It's Lambo developed and patented tech without outside help, that's what we were told at the reveal, I guess VAG owns it by default hence the word sell in inverted commas. drviperdds Report post Posted February 18, 2017 This ALA should have been incorporated into the SV. I wonder if this technology could be retrofitted into the current SV lineup.

APB Report post Posted February 18, 2017 Performante also holds Imola record. Mentioned in some test drives of the pre-production car. Nevermind, it is just a wierd title of the said test drive from a magazine. It was refering to it's Nurburgring record.
Ag02M5 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 I have to wonder what tires were on it to set that record. And how do those compare to the ones that were on the 918?

LamboNutter Report post Posted February 19, 2017 My point on this matter is that it's such a long and complicated track, that analyzing it over a lap time difference of mere seconds says more about the skill/luck/balls of the driver than it does about the superiority of one car over another. This NRing lap time stuff is just marketing. It's so one owner can go "My car did a 6:xx at the Nring look at me" meanwhile in that same car they couldn't break 8 minutes. So many of these cars nowadays (Huracan included) are already too fast to get anything out of on public roads. What matters is things like feel (brake, acceleration, steering), ergonomics, build quality, looks, sounds, etc. Made the track safer by resurfacing the flugplatz section to remove the "jumps". The track at this section was also stretched. It allows drivers to keep the foot in the car now without fear. To my knowledge that was the only modification but it's still something. I don't think you understood what I was getting at. No big deal. I was more directing the comment at brand fanboys who get delusional about the straight line capabilities of the cars they like. Striping some kilos out of a Huracan and slightly upping the power isn't going to allow it to beat the hyper trio in a straight line. The acceleration figures would support this I'm sure (although I don't know what lambo is claiming yet). Now don't get me wrong. I think the Huracan P is going to be a monster and huge bargain at the price they offer it. It looks great. I love the NA engine in an age of turbo charged cars. Very fair points. I agree. LamboCARS Report post Posted February 19, 2017 Beat the 918 by five seconds on the track. Anybody else get wind of this? That would mean the Huracan Performante did a lap at the Nurburgring in only 6:52 ... That's even faster than the Radical SR8 (at 6:56.08) and a mere 4 seconds behind the Radical SR8LM (at 6:48.00) ... both of which aren't considered to be competition for the Huracan if you ask me, different type of car altogether.
