  1. Is anyone else concerned about the fact that '13 Aventadors have had 9 Recalls in the past 6-7 months? From what I'm hearing, there is a growing lack of confidence in the car and Lamborghini's capability to make a reliable product for a high price. Could be one reason for the soft after market sales of these cars.
  2. Well worth the $. My cost was $2,500.00. Significant and needed improvement.
  3. Back on June 15, I posted a thread here on a problem with my Aventador engine overheating at low speeds. The cause and potential fix for the problem may be of interest to other Aventador owners. The cause of the overheating problem was due to a stone being kicked up by the right rear wheel and lodging in the right rear fan housing and jamming one of the fan blades which prevented the fan from operating. At speeds above 45-50 mph, there was enough air velocity to keep the engine operating within a normal range. The fix was simple-remove the stone. No damage to the fan, blades, sensors etc. Working with Greg Miller and Casey at Lamborghini of Washington, a fine mesh screen was purchased and installed in the left and right wheel wells to prevent any further stones etc causing any similar problems in the future. The mesh was sized to allow sufficient air to reach the fan. The screens are not visible unless the rear wheels are removed. Thanks to both Greg and Casey for a job well done.
  4. Not sure where this is coming from, but I had the stock upgrade done yesterday.
  5. Was caught in a large stop and go traffic jam yesterday in my '13. After ~ a half hour, engine temp. started to increase. Had to pull over and shut down to cool things off when it got into the red zone. When I turned the engine off, some coolant blew out the overfill. When the traffic started moving again, enough air was getting to the back to keep the temp in the normal operating zone. First time with this problem. Anyone else have this problem? As a side note, I understood the side vents were set up to automatically open if the engine temp got too high. This did not happen. Not sure if the vent operation is predicated on temp and speed.
  6. For those of you who have tracked an Aventador, what cold and hot tire pressures for the stock tires have you been using? Thanks.
  7. There is good advice here. I would also suggest you think through why you want to purchase an "exotic" and what you want to do with it. Keep it for a year or two and sell it, Garage Queen, DD, "Arrive" Car, want to check out tracking a car etc? You might decide that you would like to do a couple of these alternatives. Each one will have a different financial impact over time. I recommend doing the why and what homework first, run the numbers on the "cost" to make this happen, cosider Fortis' advice here, determine the alternatives, make a decision, and enjoy. Once you get to the alternatives part of all this, there are a number of folks both here and on other car boards who can offer suggestions as to what you might consider based on their experience. Best of luck.
  8. On one of the other Lambo forums, there has been a discussion on how to manually raise and lower the rear wing on the Aventador. A picture was shown of a button located just below the electronic parking brake switch to do this. My '13 does not have this button. The Owner's Manual, however, does show such a button and a detailed description of how it operates. My question is do those of you who own a '12 or '13 [or both! ] Aventador have this button on your cars? Either I have the wrong Owner's Manual or my car is missing something. My other question is whether one of the "expensive" CTek battery charger/maintainers was included with your car when you purchased it. Thanks.
