  1. Good to hear that the 255/35s fit in the front with no problems (at least in Michelins). Please post some pictures once you get the R888s mounted.
  2. I have a '99 SV - RWD from the factory so no driveline issues with running slightly bigger fronts.
  3. Now that Michelin has discontinued 335 section tires in 18" sizes, is there an alternative to PZero Rosso/PZero Corsa for matching tires? The PZero matching sizes are 245/35R18 and 335/30R18. Toyo R888 in 335 section that would work for the rears but the closest front size is 255/35R18 which would add 1/4 inch in ride height to the front and 3/4 inch in section width. Has anyone tried these tires on a Diablo? Any issues with rubbing?
  4. Don't want to turn this into a WTB thread, but if anyone has leads on a black CGT for sale please let me know. Serious buyer, cash in hand etc. I narrowly missed out on the black one Brian Albertson had for sale earlier this year when I couldn't get the funds in place on time but am ready to pull the trigger now. I bought my Diablo from a fellow board member and wouldn't mind going 2 for 2 when it comes to buys from a board member.

My 2 cents: I use Competizione at Airpark, Gaithersberg as they are now a fully equipped to deal with Lambos (they bought a ton of Lambo diagnostic gear last year) and they service my SV, Steve Leffert's SE30, and a bunch of other Lambos (including 2 Miuras and a couple of QVs). Richard and Fernando are very well respected Ferrari techs and are expanding their Lamborghini clientelle. If you have a carbed Lambo, these guys are pretty much your only local option. For something really complicated like an engine rebuild etc., go to George Evans in Ohio. Both places will provide you with enclosed transportation. As for the dealership, as Chris said, Ali is a good guy, but the other guys remain an unknown quantity to me. I'm sure they are fine for the newer cars but have never tried them. Don't know much about Wil de Groot - have read good things about him online, but no first hand experience.

  7. Thanks Placid. If I use a 20% drivetrain loss, that would mean a crank hp of: 414/(1-20%) = 517hp. That's a bit lower than the quoted 530hp, but the difference could be because of the ram air effect in the SV - though I seriously doubt they came up with the quoted figure in an accurate way using ram air effect, they probably just took a swag and came up with a nice round 530hp at the crank figure. All in all, I'm a happy camper. Now if anyone has a Series 1 LP400S for sale with Bravo wheels, please let me know :-)

  9. Put the car on the dyno when it was in for its annual all fluids change and got 414 whp, 408 wtq (lb ft) SAE corrected results. What sort of correction factor should you use to estimate power at the crank?
  10. Even the factory doesn't have any in stock. And there's no word on when the next production run will be. Right now my best hope of bagging one is to see if there's one sitting on someone's parts shelf.
