rhyno Report post Posted May 24, 2018 Since the day I bought my MSV I have had an issue when you come to a stop the car downshifts from 3rd to 2nd and then drops into neutral. The car would be stuck in neutral and I would have to take the key out, lock and unlock the car, then start it before it would go back into gear. I had two Lambo dealerships look at the issue and they could not fix the car. I have had the egear system bled out to make sure no small particles are blocking anything. I just had the engine out to replace the actuator, that was a $8,800 part and now my car downshifts from 3rd to 2nd and into neutral, the difference is I can hit a paddle and get it into first gear and drive away. Does anyone have an idea what I need to do to fix this car?
Murcie612 Report post Posted May 24, 2018 Stop light switches are common. Had a similar problem in my 07 LP640 and turned out to be a stop light switch.

murcivu Report post Posted May 26, 2018 I'm sorry to hear and hope you get it sorted stat. As much as I love my LP, egear issues will always be in the back of my mind. I too had to drop @ $10k on the egear right after 2 wks of owning the car. Hopefully that won't have to happen again for a very long time. rhyno Report post Posted May 28, 2018 I had the stop light switch installed and I still have the issue of the car dropping into neutral. Anybody else have any ideas what to do next?
rhyno Report post Posted May 28, 2018 I also noticed that I have about 2” of dead play in my steering wheel. I can move the wheel back and forth with no feedback or steering change, is this normal?
Allan-Herbie Report post Posted May 28, 2018 Moral of the story... dont buy egear
Stimpy Report post Posted May 29, 2018 I also noticed that I have about 2” of dead play in my steering wheel. I can move the wheel back and forth with no feedback or steering change, is this normal? Oh hell no! This is a 200+ mph supercar, not a 1975 Lincoln Towncar. Get that fixed asap! There's nothing exotic about the design of the Murci rack and pinion steering, so it should be east to diagnose, which my money is on a failed steering rack. As for the shifting issues, I bought a manual transmission car so I wouldn't have those issues, but I do look at some of the threads on these problems, and there are a couple of sensors that can go bad. The problem is that one or both need to have the engine and transmission removed to replace them. Sorry I can't give you more specifics, but if you look around on this forum and Lambo Talk, you'll see those sensors mentioned in threads about egear issues. Stimpy Report post Posted May 29, 2018 Here's a thread that talks about those 2 sensors. It looks like they can be replaced without removing the transmission: http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=78360
JonV8944s Report post Posted August 2, 2018 Let me know if you are still having the issue, I’m sure the 2 sensors being replaced and/or a relearn of the actuator will likely solve it. Or 3rd option, sell me your SV at a ‘its broken’ price and I’ll fix it and enjoy it for a few years. Jon
