Perhaps the dumbest Porsche I've ever seen.

I don't understand the point? Built in excuse to never take a passenger???

On a separate note:

Those paddles on the steering wheel was an awful design IMO. So easy to shift by mistake. Never owned a car with those but test drove a couple. Flappy paddles should be BEHIND the wheel.

Guy looked like an idiot driving it.

Guy who built it is an idiot, this is worse than lambo scissor doors on a mustang

More money than sense.

He's building another one with manual for track car?

There are options available that don't have to be custom built (and then taken apart and put back together 30 times because everything is connected to everything else - DUH)

At least he didn't do it with his gallardo.

Forever alone! Maybe this is to cope with some kind of injury, but then again it wont make ingress and egress any easier.

The article says that the front seat slides over so he can get in and out easily. Also apparently the rear seats now are usable.

Rear seats are totally unusable.

I will say that for track use it makes sense.

There was a friend of mine that converted his Exige to center seat. There are also a couple of 211's that converted to center seat.

There are several clubs that will not allow a single seat car to participate - even in advanced solo groups. I won't bother going into the reasoning, but if you convert a car to single seat you'll somewhat limit the groups you can run with. This is not a huge factor but something to consider.
