Pick up my new DMax on Wednesday... a bit excited to see how the new L5P runs... anyone here got one? Picking up a 17 Denali HD 2500 in black Me.jpg

Don't mind the grinning fool :)

I've got an older Duramax and love it.

Let us know how you like it, that thing bone stock should run circles around a tuned LBZ/LML. That Denali is awesome but fcuk me I just can't stomach $70k for a pickup truck.

Does PPE have a tuner for it yet? That thing will be nuts with 600hp/1100 ft-lbs from just a flash. :icon_mrgreen:

Im trading in my LML.. 2103... Love it too... but being the first GM clean sheet design DMax I am a touch nervous.. Only reason I bought it... I got a fleet discount and GM loyalty... so they knocked near 20K off.. sticker here was 91K!!!! I'll let you know how it is... from a quick test seams the throttle response is a bit quicker... It didn't really sound any quieter... Plus GM has this weird vibrating seat for park distance and lane departure... hope I can shut it off

Why would you disable it? I'd up the vibration and tailgate while cruising far right.

I recognize like 5 words on these posts. Other then that I think I need a damn Rosetta stone to translate what you all are typing! Beautiful truck though!

I had to google the engine codes for the various Duramaxes too!

Great truck. I've driven a bit of the standard gas V8 2500 HD '17 Sierra.....Duramax should be awesome.

Yeah its an all new engine from GM I was wondering if anyone had any ass-time as far as reliability. On a side note... its crazy that 45hp and 100lbs/ft is a relatively small power bump when you look at guys chip tuning their trucks... yet all the components GM replaced to make it reliable... stronger pistons, rods, crank, increased cooling/oiling.. beefed up Allison trans...

OEM factors of safety are insane, but it's also why trucks can easily get tuned with a 150hp and 250 ft/lb increase and live indefinitely, just watch the EGT so you don't burn it down.

They did that +45hp/100 ft/lbs, and expect it to live several hundred thousand miles, planning for it to be towing 18k lbs at 100% throttle over the rocky mountains.

So picked the beast up yesterday and took it for a country drive. First impressions: The diesel engine is super quiet, coupled with all the sound deadening GM added it is extremely quiet on the highway. Suspension is still firm but nicely damped and chassis feels solid. Transmission shifting is super smooth, had a couple clunky gear changes when I had to alter throttle during a shift but its still new. First drive averaging 80-100kph fuel mileage indicated 13.2 L/100 which is impressive for a new engine. Hopefully no issues pop up but I must admit this thing is a techno tour de force. So many modes and safety features to learn still. What are your thoughts on GM's Teenage Driver mode? It allows you to lock out features and sends you information about speed, hard starts and stops...
