  1. Sorry for bringing up the dead, but just wanted to provide an update should this car ever be resurrected. Currently sitting outside in trashed condition, no change from a year ago. Can't imagine the interior has fared too well.
  2. https://www.cp24.com/mobile/news/one-dead-t...-hill-1.3867300 Lots of people out in nice cars enjoying the sun today but weather is only hitting a few degrees above freezing. Lots of cold patches in the shade and ice. No word if the deceased is the driver of the SV.
  3. I always used mid level sennheiser ear bud headphones but recently got a pair of AKG K3003i IEM. I find the audio quality astonishing but I understand how the reference filters can be fatiguing for extended listening , I still need to try the bass boost filters to see if it helps.
  4. I have a couple of vintage Omegas that I think would do better on a winder, but I'm hesitant to cause additional wear. Is the consensus that the controlled / programmed motion of the movement is preferable to letting them sit for a month or two? I have a modern seamaster that would be handy to keep running to avoid constantly setting the date / time. Not trying to thread jack, but I figured you folks would be the right audience to ask.
  5. I never heard the officer give him the command to un-cross his legs. It appeared to me like the poor bastard was trying to scoot down the hallway, with his hands straight up and his legs still crossed behind him. You'd have to be some circus performer to make that happen. I don't know how you could possibly think that the line of commands, and expected actions as a result are reasonable for an average human to comprehend and carry out given the situation. I could see myself getting shot for the exact same reason as this guy. If GI Joe were bearing down on me with custom AR and expecting me to defy the laws of physics in the process, I'd have a breakdown too.
  6. I've got two I can donate to the cause....
  7. Also keep.in mind that the focus of some of these cars reflects the areas that they're driven in. Many parts of the US and Canada are devoid of any truly enjoyable, twisty driving roads. In these cases, I think it's only natural that cars focusing on straight line performance are developed. Parker mentioned going back to VF to upgrade the kit to be more competitive with the 720s. Will be interesting to see what the come up with and if maintains, what appears to be, rock solid driveability.
  8. Alot of people hate Doug Demuro but I think his review of the 4c would make alot of potential buyers consider something like a Cayman or a TTrs instead, I would. Around town, manual steering would get tiresome, and I get the feeling the lack of daily usability is engineering oversight more than a purposeful intent to make a drivers car.
  9. Only a few degrees above freezing last night, definitely ambitious to be driving like that given the cold conditions. I somewhat doubt he had snow tires on. Not surprisingly, it appears the civic R took off after the crash.
  10. How about a panamera turbo? I read this thread yesterday and came across the following video today. Couldn't help but think the opening comparisons seemed to resonate the feedback in this thread.
  11. Couldn't the change in noise be alternating bursts of fire inside and outside? I don't hear the two burst simultaneously.
  12. Another take on this, for those who don't believe this specific event warrants any change in gun laws, is there any number of fatalities / injuries where you would consider changing your mind? If he had killed 100 or 200 people by fortifying his position, would you think that perhaps something needs to change? As a Canadian, I'm genuinely curious to hear if people believe that there is no correlation of mass shooting events to gun legislation. I love the engineering, design and history behind firearms and would own a 1911 in a heartbeat if it wasn't a complete pain in the ass here.
  13. I was trying to track one down untill I saw the Wheeler Dealers episode on it. When he goes to remove the instrument cluster, each wire has to be disconnected individually as they hadn't put a loom with a common disconnect into the harness. For me, this exemplified the type of issues that might lead to shoddy repairs and high repair costs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MCIJv1jou8 (16:50)
  14. Video of this car getting loaded at 0:45. Looks like it's being well taken care of at makes and models.
