Rosso Vik question

I've googled and it looks like every other picture this color looks like a normal (bright-ish) red or in another picture it's a maroon-ish red.

Anyone have any experience with this color? I am not a fan of maroon but I do like a normal bright red.

I've seen Rosso Metis in person and it's way too maroon-y for my taste. I've heard Rosso Andromeda is about as close as you can get to Ferrari Red, how does Rosso Vik stand up to that?

Thanks!

If Metis isn't your cup of tea, then Vik likely wouldn't be either as Metis & Vik are fairly close; definitely the same hue with Vik being richer and deeper. I would call it ruby red.

Andromeda & Mars are likely the 2 closest modern Lambo colours that resemble Ferrari red.

It's maroon

:iamwithstupid: I've seen rosso vik in the showroom..it looks maroon to me...not bright red.

Rosso Andromeda is bright red. SAMLAMBO had a murcielago in Rosso Andromeda.

Ugh, that color

Lol.

I'm gonna wait to see the color in person (thanks Doug!) before I decide to drop any money.

In the mean time, if anyone knows stumbles across a VI or any shade of orange pre-LP 3 pedal Gallardo coupe please let me know! Sadly, all the ones I've found online are convertibles.

The photos on the eBay link is no where indicative of what Rosso Vik looks like. Look at the shadow underneath the car and the shades from the trees and they hint a very strong sun so the red on the car appears a lot brighter than it really is. I think Kinnsella had one (not sure if it's Metis or Vik though) so perhaps he can chime in. Fortis also had a Metis G.

I guess this about as good of a side by side as I can Google. I know that LP640 is Rosso Vik...I am safely assuming the rest are probably Rosso Andromeda.

That is a really good looking G that is just about perfect (I like factory navigation for some stupid reason). I hope you like the color and can pull the trigger!

Yea I definitely like Mars from those photos Fikse.

This is the car I'm stalking right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lamborghini-Gallar...em=121822828713

But I am not sure on the color. And the odds of me finding a sub $120K 3 pedal Verde Ithaca or Arancio Borealis Gallardo are fairly small so I'm trying to expand my color pallet...

Wow!! They really dropped the price on that one. I actually really like that car; the color & wheels. I was eyeing it before I bought my Murcie. Back then, their bottom line was $115k.

Good luck!!

I really like the rims, not sure about the color (obviously), but I'd prefer if it had the factory nav and a backup camera. It also looks to be missing the two bags that are in the front trunk (I believe the drivers side one is tools but I don't know what the tubular one on the passenger side is...car cover maybe?).

I am not a fan of maroon. The factory nav may look better but it's a pos. Like horrible pos. Plan on using your phone for nav duties.

In full sun it's the prettiest color in a car I've ever seen. At night or inside it looks maroon though:/

That's what made me pass on the color as much as I love it in the sun...

I never cared about the nav, all the cars came with the big TFT screen that the nav came with in the later cars (after 06 I think). The screen gave you the ability to have the backup camera. You are right though, the navigation was so subpar that you couldn't really use it. That said, you wouldn't believe how many people would turn up their nose at the car when you told them it didn't have navigation, like it was an absolute deal breaker.

That is a good comparison. That is my last LP640 and a friends Rosso Mars Aventador. Maroon is a better way to describe the color than red, particularly if the car is not exceptionally clean. Here are some links to photos of my car in different light.

Ed's pictures make it look awesome nonmatter what! I think the car just needs to be super clean for the metallic flake to shine.

One of my old Gallardo's was Rosso Vik and I loved the color combination - black top, black chrome Callisto wheels, black interior with Rosso Vik stitching, and Rosso Vik brake calipers!

Like others have said, it's more of a Maroon. Although it gets extremely bright under direct lighting with the metallic flakes.

If you are looking for a traditional red, like Ferrari's Rosso Corsa, then try looking at Rosso Mars.

I love the Rosso Vik colour. Its a daring colour, but if there is a lot of black accents, then it really works, in my opinion. It definitely changes its hue massively depending on the lighting. In a dark garage it will look like a Barolo wine, very dark red. At night it will almost look black. In the sun it is really just stunning, it really pops, like a tasty Bordeaux wine. It is NOT red. I love everything red, but I found this colour to be perfect.

Here is mine in Italy, with a proper camera

Here is mine at the factory, and you can see the Rosso Bia AventadorSV
