They set new WR with drag car Huracan... 2 days later UGR beats it with their street car.

Just my prediction ha-ha

Not to be rude either but what a waste of a Huracan turning it into a dragster....

Reminds me of my old car stereo competition days. Cars would show up all tricked out, looking mean yet when it came time to crank it up, they faltered.

The huracan racers will run low 7s or faster in 2018 if any of them try.

My question is, is this car using a DCT or the dog gearbox that all the high HP huracans use from the gallardo days still?

If they are using a DCT which I think they are, is the transmission and front diff going to be happy with that large of a rear tire?

I can’t imagine the front tire has really increased that much in diameter but the rear one looks like it’s a 28.5 to 30” rear making it much larger and the electronic diff problems/driveline problems should pop up now.

Excited to see 6’s in 2018.

To play with the GTRs this is what you need to do.

Good on them for giving it a go.

Hopefully a UGR customer will want to decimate all and go this route.

I think it’s safe to say it will be fast. Heffner is no stranger to the drag strip.

It’s important to understand how far away sixes are and how difficult it will be to catch the GTRs. But of course it will happen, Lambo has the tuners and the cubic inches to get there. But it’s going to take real tires guys.

or perhaps they're so obsessed with beating UR they have to "Back to the Future" mod such a great looking car.

Those rivets attaching the "wing"... ouch!

If this does not run at least very low 7s i`d be dissapointed

I've always wondered...do you even own a Lamborghini?

Why would you be disappointed? What do you have invested in the outcome? Let's say this car runs mid 7s. Will you watch the video and say "Well, I have to say, now that I have seen this car and it has not run at the very least low 7s, I am now very disappointed." What's the aftermath going to be like for you?

I was just speaking from an owners perspective. Having invested so much into a car like this I would be dissapointed to see it fail to achieve those numbers.

And to your question...no I do not currently own a lamborghini. My daily is just a measly 2014 CLS 350 lol but ever since I´ve rented a Huracan once for a weekend in 2015 I have planned to get a Performante maybe in 2018 once I find a solid one below 250K €. And the reason I´m mostly hanging out in this TT section is because I´m interested in a Stage 3 Kit, because that is the most power I could reasonably and legally drive here in Germany due to all the emission regulation and TÜV standards.

Yeah, but it's not really an owner's perspective because we've established that you don't have an owner's perspective. You have a "guy with a 2014 CLS 350" perspective. No need to "lol" it. It's nothing to be embarrassed about or rationalize with talk of past rentals. You don't own a Lambo and this isn't your car, but now we know what your feelings and emotions would be if you hypothetically owned a Lamborghini, specifically this Lamborghini, and if this Lamborghini hypothetically failed to run a specific time. Seems like a stretch that this emotional rollercoaster will ever be a real world problem for you. Come on man, you can admit it. No shame in trying to rank up in the Tuner Fan Cup of The Internet. The competition is fierce, the standings are tight, and points are coming at a premium. I get it.

Let's be realistic, OB owns an incalculable amount of exotics. He can do whatever he wants with them, and nobody is gonna miss 1 or 2 or 50 of the soon-to-be 10,000+ Huracans, whether they be turned into drag cars, or stanced, or painted pink and turned into Mary Kay cars. I don't know the guy, but maybe he just likes the way it looks with massive tires on it and he wants to use it to drive to the grocery store. Or maybe he woke up one morning and said "Damn it, I've discovered I love drag racing, make me a drag Huracan." Kudos to him, hope he has a good time either way.

FWIW, you might not see a reason to run slicks on the front, but I'm guessing that's because in addition to not owning any Lamborghinis, you also don't own any serious drag cars. Perhaps you have rented one.

Seriously? Man, my first statement was nothing to attack anyone. I just meant it looks so dang purposefully prepped and modified that it should at least be able to do what it promises to look like.

What has this to do with me personally at all? As a long time enthusiast of lamborghinis, cars, tuners etc let me have my opinion...no need to question anything. Im 99% constructive on here and never participate in any senseless bashing like so many others do. I just enjoy this section and people like gidi and ugr who chase records

Besides I'm very patient and wanted to wait for that perfect lamborghini for me both model, spec and price (depreciation) wise.

I think the big point is, you're making guesses and assumptions as to what their goals and objectives were. Claiming it's all a waste if it doesn't run a 6, etc.

He's running bias ply tires on the front.... because its insanely damgerous to run radials on the front with bias in the rear, and it guarantees the tires maintain the same diameter and dont blow up the awd system. See, bias ply tires grow with rpm, a fair bit i might add. If you had even skinnies up front, they wouldn't grow and the diff would probably scatter.

All your statements just reinforce that you aren't really knowledgeable to make them in the first place.

Correct. And these opinions are transparently colored by the two words that precede "Drag Huracan" in the title.

I'm glad some opinions have been offered on drag-setup Huracans in this thread. We'll see if those opinions change over time depending on who is running them.

Well I wish them the best of luck. I enjoy watching people pushing new setups to chase records even though it might look unusual especially when its a worlds first with this drag huracan on slicks.

WOW... UGR runs 7.6 with a stock looking car.

This thing looks like it should hang with Gidis GTR. So the statement 6s or be disappointed is ok.

FFS ... It is a bog ask, but with UGR numbers so impressive why not aim for 6s out of it?

Well it better run sixes or it's just a complete waste given UR has already set the mark of mid-7's without the Back to the Future mods. To top that off, UR has been toying around and when they're ready to get serious about the 1/4, watch out. ;)

You should call OB and tell him. He might be driving around his Huayra completely unaware that one of his half dozen Huracans could be a total waste. It's possible he might not even know because he may have never been involved in car stereo competitions and therefore is without frame of reference.

Also, I would hope nobody else would run a true drag setup on a Huracan. We already established on page 1 it was a dumb idea.
