Not exactly converting a 360 CS to a manual, but converting a regular 360 manual to a CS:

I'll take it!

Years ago there was a guy here in SoCal that had a 360 spyder and did (as best I can tell) a full CS conversion on it. Man those cars were slow, but they sound amazing and look g-damn sexy.

This sums up the 360 perfectly. Love the way they look, but they were lacking a bit in performance compared to other cars. Still one of my favorite F cars of all time.

So, I guess this is an easier way to get a a street legal CS car? Is that the plan? If not for public road, wouldn't it be easier to just but a used CS and bring it up to spec?

Now that they are both slow by today's standards, I'd much rather have a 360 over a 430 due to the drastic difference in sound.

Only problem with the CS is the tranny. Hell, drove my neighbors Enzo last year and the tranny was laughable. Manual would be a huge improvement.

What about the fact that the 430 is also a very ugly update on the 360.

I think the F430 killed it. Doesn't look too bad, done right can look better than a 360, and the performance is better than a 360. Great upgrade imo. If I had to choose, I would go with the 430 in red (:D) over the 360 every time. Just because it's a better total package. 360 still looks killer though.

And also, I just read the article. Now I understand the reason for the conversion :D

All CS were street legal. "Stradale" means road.

The issue in Emanon's story was that they never made any Challenge Stradales in spiders.

Nor did they make any in a regular manual transmission, hence the thread.

As far as performance in 360/430....not sure how relevant that is anymore as you wouldn't be buying them these days to provide elite performance but instead an older manual Ferrari.

Welp. I was thinking challenge car this whole time. CS, now I remember.... time for me to go to bed :D

IMO performance is super over rated when judging cars. Who cares about 0-100mph or HP figures. I don't.
