Anyone got anything new??

We are about a month away, expect to hear something new rather sooner than later.

Didn't know that there is going to be a celebration of 50th Anniversary of the Lamborghini Espada and Islero at Quail this year.

Yeah! It's close now! I thought Lamborghini would start talking during the Festival Of Speed but it seems that event gave us no hints. Or have I missed something?

I don't think many realize it yet, but SVJ will go down as the last N/A V12 Supercar ever produced by a major supercar maker. In other words it will be the most important Lamborghini of this decade.

I fundamentally agree and certainly hope that you are correct. But knowing Lamborghini, which does not operate on a very large budget, there is no stopping of them coming out with a "final edition" of some sort just to milk the very last dollar out of the Avendator series. Not something that I would like to see but its possibility cannot be denied.

I don't think they will do that, at least I haven't heard of any special edition of the SVJ coming besides the Roadster.

Those "Special Edition games" were closely related to the previous CEO of Lamborghini. As you may have noticed those "special edition games" have started at Bugatti recently. :D Nothing against him though, he knows how to build out a brand, keep it profitable and successful.

Domenicali did talk:

I feel everyone realizes it, however Lambo is more concerned with pumping out as many cars as they can. Net effect is instead of creating a frenzy for their halo they create a buzz. I'm excited about the SVJ but am walking not sprinting, knowing full well we will see dozens for sale within short time given projected production numbers. I wish they'd cut the number in half but as another poster rightly pointed out they're in the business of profit not appreciation.

I would hope not either but when one is working under a constricted budget, one's options are very limited. It's the same "game" that the new CEO is playing; or at least same results but under a different name. Note the tricolore and the aero package on the Huracan series. And with the AV-S, they took out some of the CF from the SV and turned it into different CF option packages. The same applies to the wheel options. And now there is a 5-figure aero kit for that as well. And not too long ago, they genuinely did 5 special editions for the Japanese market which are nothing but fancy paint works.

The new flagship is most likely 2 years away. Subject to demand, Lamborghini will need to calculate precisely how many chassis and related parts they will make for the AV-S, AV-S roadster; SV-J, SV-J roadster and the few-off special model. Any leftovers will be turned into something "special" in order to liquidate and conclude the Aventador series in a rapid manner and to set up for the subsequent flagship.

Latest news I've heard is production # will be nearly the same as the SV and a coupe MSRP will top out just under $600 with options.

Early orders should be delivered by Oct-Nov.

Anyone care to share what color they are ordering?

I'm in between a one - off, Blu Nethuns, Verde Themis or a white / black car with a crazy color interior.

Thinking white at this stage but I will reserve final decision until I see the car.

Pretty amazing how much more agressive the SV-J looks than the S. There are so many aero-bits in the front! Not long left now btw ;)

Hell no. You know they arent getting that fancy lol. Two different cars. SVJ has been spotted with and without a wing.

But looking at it more, the first picture doesnt even look like the SVJ. Look at the intakes and front aero. It is just a Aventador S.

Haha guys, this is an old photo of the S compared to a more recent spot of the SVJ :P God damn it guys! You need to check your eyes ;) The point of these two pics is that it shows the difference very well from the car that the SVJ is based on, and the actual SVJ.

The aventador is really getting long in the tooth, tough to get excited for me , another body kit, 20hp more , they will make as many as they can sell . Need some new blood.

+1.

Makes you wonder what happens to SVJ prices once the replacement is announced especially if they make say a 1,000 SVJs as rumored.

Sure it is coming, but is it sexy enough to spoil the SVJ? In my mind it isn't. To be honest the 812-line is far less exciting to me than the F12 ever was. Also I share Stefano Domenicali's view. He said in an interview that Ferraris is not a competitor, but a compliment. You get the Lambo for the drama and soul. But you get the Ferrari for the everyday-usability. Why compare a spicy GT to a supercar?

Oh how I wish Lambo would keep their limited edition V12's more exclusive like Ferrari does with their limited edition V12's. The 812 TDF or whatever it will be called might not be the best looking or best performing car available on the market when it's released but one thing that it will have going for it is exclusivity. It'll be near impossible to buy one and most of them will be purchased and put into storage.

To those that say 1000 SVJ's WORLDWIDE is not exclusive enough...get a life! Maybe 500 will make their way to the US market. I can pretty much guarantee that I will have the only one in the entire state of Utah. Thats exclusive enough for me.

Ferrari V12's? LMAO...the 'Superfast' is ugly as F@@k.

The Ferrari V12 will always be significant in the automotive landscape. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks of the styling, that's one thing they always get right.

The F140 family in particular has been special -- the Enzo has been the blueprint engine for Ferrari since 2002.

The business models of Lamborghini and Ferrari are almost mutually exclusive; they cannot be compared to each other. Ferrari is a self-containing huge marketing machine that has long established a solid following. Lamborghini; despite having the blessing of Audi & VAG; is on a shoestring budget. Given the extremities, I tip my hat to Winkelmann and Domenicali for their efforts and results. For the same reason, I don't think Domenicali would want to step on his former employer's toes just in case and hence his comment of Ferrari being a compliment. There is no telling where Lamborghini is heading so long as they are just a small sector of the big VAG pie and especially when big brother Porsche takes up a good chunk of it as well. Lamborghini needs to make a certain quantity for sheer survival and to finance their next flagship; with the SV-J and the few-off model carrying the torch.

If this is indeed the last NA & non-hybrid V12 car that Lamborghini will ever make, then the rumoured 1000 SV-J's aren't too many. They probably will retain their value quite well once people begin to realize the SV-J is marking the end of a certain Lamborghini era; as another member has indicated. Although I am confident that this isn't the end of this powerplant. It might not operate as a standalone unit anymore but it should continue its service in tandem with some hybrid tech.
