Plastique999 Report post Posted February 20, 2018 Going to get on list for this as well....spoke with dealer and heard it is the last Aventador model before its replacement, will be fastest Lambo produced, production numbers lower than current SV model. SV-N-IT Report post Posted February 20, 2018 I'm hearing 4WS, ALA aero, SVJ model, trying to beat GT2 ring times etc.. the only negative might be single clutch but time will tell!

Good luck, that would be an awesome acquisition. I could see it being the last with the name sake anyways. Let the speculation begin (it already has i’m sure) on the Aventador’s reaplcement. Hopefully it’s more than just a handful of examples ala Veneno.
Luckydaff Report post Posted February 22, 2018 My friend told me that a friend of his (with some serious bulls) had been to a private viewing of SVJ. He said it will be at Geneva ... LamboNutter Report post Posted February 23, 2018 will this be a worthy step up? will Lambo finally make it stand out head and shoulders above the AventadorS? This needs to be a crushing blow to anything else that Lamborghini offers, as at the moment the Huracan Performante is actually the best car. An awesome drive, as you can read from my own thread with full review on it. AventadorS felt slow and very archaic in comparison.... I would love Lamborghini to produce something that places the V12 back at the very top, untouched by anything else, nothing should come close to it. Anything less than 800hp, and a minimum of 100kg weight saving would be a disappointment if you ask me. The 488Pizza will blow it out of the water if not. Since this is the first real car by Stefano Domenicali, hopefully he will push the boundaries to Ferrari levels in terms of driving dynamics. If the Performante is anything to go by, then it should be epic!!
Fortis Report post Posted February 23, 2018 Dynamically it will be let down by its gearbox, the weakest link of the overall package and because they will not be able to change that in the Aventador my expectations for this model aren’t sky high, we will get sub 800 HP possibly 50kg less weight which will make very little difference to such a heavy car plus the RWS and ALA. I am sure the design will be mind blowing and that’s what’s going to attract and appeal to me
VCR Report post Posted February 23, 2018 Unless Lamborghini can seriously graph the ALA technologies onto the AV SV-J, I am not holding my breath. Yes, it will have RWS and likely some sort of ALA and a power bump, but this isn't too different from what took place between the LP570 SC/STS and the LP640/670. The V12 Murci won simply by brute force; but the V10 Gallardo was a better car. Technology-wise, like the Murci, the AV is already obsolete but the old formula of increasing HP + decreasing weight will always work. So it may be a "faster" car academically, the H Perf would likely be a funner & more rewarding drive. Lambo put nearly all their resources into the Urus; not much is left for the AV flagship. And it would not make sense to put in a lot of resources into an out-going car. And there is no way the working principles of the ALA is simply aerodynamics. I am not an engineer but the idea of simply channeling air to up the car's performance by this much seems quite far fetch. Lambo is not telling us the full story on what else they had done. But whatever they were, I do hope they can be fully implemented into the AV-SV-J.

But whatever they were, I do hope they can be fully implemented into the AV-SV-J. I doubt they are hiding much about the ALA. The genius of it, is that its so simple, yet fantastically and surprisingly effective. Yes, brute force would do it for me, it needs to crush the Performante on any highway pulls. If i would spend double the HP, then I wouldn't accept a close acceleration run. We keep hearing from people that the V12 can easily make 800hp.... well now is the time to show us. Ferrari have released the insane engine in the 812 SuperDuperFast, so I'm sure Domenicalli would love to one-up his old buddies across town. I always have more interest in the last iteration, the ultimate development of an idea (old model), than have the first release edition. All the old unforeseen problems and disappoints have been ironed out by then.

All the old unforeseen problems and disappoints have been ironed out by then. I fully agree and support all of the above except the ALA. If it is indeed just what it claims to be, then it is pure genius. But active aero is not new at all; one would think brands like Porsche and Ferrari would have done that long ago given their vast resources vs. Lambo's. This is not my personal suspicion only; even the techs and service managers at several Lambo dealerships are wondering the same. For air to be that effective, one likely needs to drive in a storm to get the needed volume of air. Lambo surely had been tinkering with something else to which they are not telling. Fortis Report post Posted February 23, 2018 I have no idea how effective ALA is but the difference between the standard H and the Performante is sky high that can not be achieved with only a slight increase in HP so ALA might be what makes up that. Both HP and the ALA play a role of course and are likely synergistic; but there has to be something else that Lambo tinkered with. I would go as far as saying both the HP & ALA combined cannot achieved that much and make the Perf so different from the regular Huracan. porter Report post Posted February 24, 2018 One other possible negative besides the single clutch is the production numbers. If they are the same as SV, I may pass as 1000+ produced is too many to make it extremely collectable, especially at this price point approaching a million, at least where I live. True but if they reduce the numbers you will be paying $2mil so there is always a catch, short term these cars hold value and increase even at 1000 production numbers, have your fun pump and dump if you want to collect anything collect stamps

It's the pleasure of ownership. Great if one doesn't lose $ when it's time to move on; even greater when one actually makes $; but no big deal either when one loses as while it may leave a bad taste in one's mouth, it isn't going to break one's bank. Realistically, these are grown men's toys after all. Totally different story of course if it is not for collection purposes. Realistically, these are grown men's toys after all. Totally different story of course if it is not for collection purposes. I think we are at the complete opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to collecting. I dislike accumulating stuff, maybe my OCD is dictating otherwise, generally if I don't get to use something very often I see it as an inconvenience more than anything therefore I can not put myself in the shoes of a collector to understand what he/she feels towards their preferred objects, if you want to kill me slowly take me to a hoarder's house, I will not last long LOL. If I collect something in my eyes it has to have some sort of a purpose, making money is a great reason so if I feel that the object I "collect" doesn't have the ability to provide such function I discard of it. When I look at interior designs and I see clutter I always think to myself, why would anyone have more furniture than they actually and practically need? if it doesn't have a specific function or use I want to get rid of it, I love dumping stuff it feels liberating LOL. I am glad someone collects and not everyone has my mentality because based on it everything will eventually end up at the rubbish dump as land fill. Anyone offers therapy on LP
