  1. Terrible event, feel so sorry for the victims, and their family and friends.
  2. Is it quicker than the M3? I was of the understanding it was really just a re-naming of the M3 Coupe for this generation?

I guess it's dependent on what you see it as, with the original, imo, being styled like the F40 combined with a modern jetfighter (modern of the time, of course), one of the huge iconic supercars of the late 80s / early 90s. I wouldn't call the Audi R8 iconic, personally. Now maybe that was not intentional, and just a sideffect of involving pininfarina in the project, I don't know. And as I said, I will likely revise my opinion once seeing it in the flesh, so to speak. Perhaps the pictures don't do it justice. It just looks too generic to me, that's all. Bearing in mind, as I said, it's priced nearly 50% higher than what I thought were it's competitors, and also than it's predecessor. So is it aiming at a different market sector than it's original?
  4. I won't actually be that surprised if it is in the same ballpark for 0-60 times as those, the GTR is already in the same category on that measurement (~3sec 0-60). But there is a lot more to it than just that performance stat.
  5. I will be keen to see one in person, and drive it, before really solidifying an opinion, but I am not particularly excited for it so far. From what's out in the media, it just doesn't feel like a successor to the original to me, it feels like they're just trying to trade off the nameplate to sell GenericSportsCar002. Agree with the above that it looks too Accord-like, it just doesn't have the same visual presence as the NSX did when it landed in 1990. It also sounds like it's going to be significantly more expensive than the likes of the GTR or 911 (or even Tesla S), which I'd felt seemed like two of it's natural rivals. But, it may turn out to be a really great drivers car, in which case we may all be pleasantly surprised.
  6. I'll give you a perhaps slightly different perspective, I may not be exactly your 'target audience' for the question, as I don't own a Lambo. I do want to. I will one day. I could theoretically buy one now, but it would be a really bad idea, as much as I'd love to. A big thing that others have mentioned is priority. And what you think your priorities are, are likely to differ over the years. When I was 19 I thought getting a Lambo would be one of my big priorities once I had a decent income. Tell you what, it hasn't ended up the case. Other things, like housing, day to day costs, family take priority. For me, at least, it stopped being "How much income do I need to generate to buy a Lambo?" and became "How much extra income do I need to generate, on top of my 'normal' lifestyle expenses, to buy a Lambo, without it impacting or risking my higher-priority objectives?" I haven't actually got my answer to that one yet. I keep setting targets, and when I get to them, I find that our expenses in other areas have crept up - we're buying nicer food or better clothes, for example. I sure as heck am not going to turn round and make my son eat scraps for lunch at school so I can scrim and scrape the money aside to squeeze in a toy, no matter how long I've wanted one. The value of vehicle I buy, as a ratio of my income, has dropped significantly over the years. When I was about 18 or 19, I had no problem buying a $30k car with a $30k income. Doesn't mean I have a $150k or even $50k car now. That said, I suppose if you genuinely just have owning the car as your priority, and don't care about much else, you could do it on quite a bit less than 300k, but I really think it would be a bad idea for most people. 10 years ago I'd have thought it was a grand plan.

  8. Wow I'm amazed the GTR pulls sub-3 second in any of it's stock forms... always picked it for more of a high-3s/low-4s.

  11. My deepest condolences, it's a hard decision and a terrible time to lose a loved pet. We recently had to put our 16 year old cat down, and it's a massive shift in our lives.
  12. LOL, funny, i was just thinking today I had not seen him around for a bit anywhere, thought I'd check here and been missing here also. I know he was really busy when we saw him in late May with one or two new ventures in the works, and sounds like things are progressing so hopefully it's all positive
  13. No idea on pricing/availability over there, but if the kids are old enough to not need rear-facing child seats then I'd look at an AM DB9 Volante. Though it's not as roomy in the rear as the GTC or Maserati, imo it is a very cool car and most kids should fit comfortably in the rear at least till their early teens. Although the Virage Volante is due later this year I think? And looks to be even better.
  14. KickAss was awesomely funny, imo, I really hope they do get around to making the sequel. I also thought Aaron Johnson did a really good interpretation of Dave and Chloë Moretz' interpretation of Hit-Girl was disturbingly entertaining. There are quite a few deviations from the graphic novel, but unlike many such adaptations they just made it different enough to still be a lot of fun, rather than a broken rewrite. But, it is a fairly niche movie, imo, and probably not that suited to a wider-appeal (and certainly wouldn't recommend it as family-friendly, hah).
