I heard docm3 just made a few test runs and was spinning off the line etc(first time at the track with this car) but I'm sure he will comment and so will brooks.

if the H ran a 10.4 this car should be a bit quicker. the aero was built for a track with turns not for 1/4 mile so this might hurt a little for a straight line run.

brooks did you drive the P at the track?

Would he really be able to ring out a car he took delivery of a day before?!

Is there a recommended break in period?

yea, I drove the Performante on the 10.7 pass.... It will prob go 10.4 like my Huracan did, maybe a 10.3 with some better weather and track prep, the 30HP is probably offset by the Aero...

the vbox numbers for both cars are there, the 720S is just ridiculous, 4 second advantage to 150 MPH..

nice! 720 is a beast! the perf was def designed more for the race track! exciting times for entry exotics now competing with and beating the big boys on all types of tracks!

the days of having to spend a mil for hyper car performance are pretty much over!

Congrats Brooks! Off the wall bonkers for a 300K car to go 9s in factory trim!

The Performante I am sure is a beast on the track and does what it’s intended to do very well but obviously in a straight line, they are far, far apart.

Wow, that is just crazy fast for a stock 720s! I truly love the 720S and the McLaren line. I just bought a new 570S that should be here by the end of the week. The technology, the drive from sport to track, the seats, the DCT, etc is just such a huge hit in my eyes....and I love the way the interior and exterior look...the new age look and aero is spot on for me.

4 seconds can't be right. The perf probably let off after the 1/4.

Numbers don’t lie. Sub 15 seconds to 150 mph is nothing to sneeze at. 720S is just that fast. I’d imagine it will do 10.5 seconds to 150 mph under good conditions. That’s hypercar stuff.

I was driving both cars with the vbox, watch the video, you can see me on it till 158 MPH:

after 11 seconds the 720S is going almost 19 MPH faster....

These graphs are exactly why websites like fastest laps are so stupid. This is what an acceleration graph looks like. They are logarithmic and now that dct’s exist they are relatively smooth. If they are peaky or wavy then the numbers are piece mealed from different runs and graphed as one.

That’s my bro, Dragtimestimes showing the real data! People want to talk smack on the internet, go ahead but make sure you have the vbox graph! Lol.

It tells the whole story if you know what to look for. Those dct’s are amazing!

i bet if brooks gets a perf we will see a 10.2 within 2 weeks after he gets it! weight is down, power is up and tranny is faster this should be good for .2 IMO in the right hands. time will tell.

Don't know if you saw a post I made 3-4 weeks ago, after I did see the 720 in real life-I was dead wrong it's amazing and does have presence. Clearly it's performance speaks for itself. It reminds me of a LaF in pics it's not near as good as it looks when you see the car or sit in it. Great stuff, all the best. Thx for the info!

Drag is higher

correct, but the aero/ALA opens on the straights in race mode so less resistance compared to acr, gt3rs etc..
