Roar before the 24

Spent a couple hours late this afternoon watching practice. It finally got up to 50 degrees F around 4 pm

It was fun watching the first lap as they’d come screaming into the corner - hard on the brakes - and either lock up or squirm with cold brakes and tires. They had a surprising amount of heat and grip after the first lap.

There were few people and great vantage points for spectating. Tomorrow will be busier (and about the same temps). More practice tomorrow plus a race, and then more practice/qualifying on Sunday where it’ll get up into the 60’s.

One of my fave perches is the little grandstand at the exit of 5. Lots of action coming into the turn and lots of passing through or exiting the turn. And the high bank is behind me although not much seems to happen along that stretch.

My buddy is racing in the event so I'll be watching it on TV since I can't make it out.
