  1. Maybe contact these folks to see if they have any leads: https://www.eurospares.co.uk/search?partNumber=0020006206 and, this may be promising: https://www.ebay.com/itm/133654580335?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5336684219&toolid=10001&customid=newlinks seems they popup on ebay from time to time
  2. Just a guess, you have air entering the system from somewhere, did test for leaks?
  3. Actually there is a different reference to these items: https://www.lamborghini.com/en-en/news/lamborghini-inaugurates-a-2021-marked-by-strong-growth The excellent trend was accompanied by the sales launch of the Huracán STO - Super Trofeo Omologata model, the new luxury super sports car inspired by the sports tradition of the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and the Huracán GT3 EVO, which will be followed by two more product novelties based on the iconic V12 in the months to come. Sounds like these "novelties" would be track cars? Or as referred to above, simply some one-off models with limited production runs? (a Winkelmann speciality)
  4. Doubt there will any replacement other than maybe Oliver Blume (CEO of Porsche), looking at this story: https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/vw-said-overhaul-supercar-strategy-putting-lamborghini-bugatti-focus seems to be renewed interest in divesting of Lamborghini by VW There is no new street legal V12, several times Euro7 regulations (due out end of 2021) have been mentioned by Reggiani will pretty much make it impossible without GPFs and hybrid, and VW is probably not going to pour money into Lamborghini new V12 engine platform development in light of a substantial decrease in the possible marketshare. Especially considering they cannot make use of such an engine any other product made by VW, and due to potentially super aggressive Euro 7 rules (which China will follow) including potential regulations of fumes that are currently not regulated at all may limit production that would reduce the expectations to recoup its development costs... Domenicali left for a reason, he got a job with a better future, who wants to be the CEO of a company that is either shutdown or sold off (first job that is cut is the CEO if sold...) he wanted to go out on his terms...
  5. unfortunately, surveillance has officially be made standard equipment, that would seem to mean the car could be compromised by someone or something anywhere that has an internet connection, not to mention you are be continuously watched, analyzed, and marketed...no thanks and, every word you speak, will be recorded and out of your control as to how it is used... and, if you have a girlfriend, daughter, wife, etc named "Alexa", wonder how that works
  6. in 3rd to attempt to prevent wheelspin as that is all that was happening in 2nd, top of 2nd was about 90mph, so upped to 3rd, still spun tires at 70, that's why 3rd (3rd top is about 120mph)
  7. I was in the car at the time, at Laguna Seca...November 1996, it happened.
  8. I visited Al when he was building these cars in 1996, at the prototyping stage, and he said if the car had all the engine internals changed out it would net over 700HP at the flywheel...so, this car didn't have that full engine package, if it did that would be a very interesting car! You could break the tires loose, in 3rd gear, at 70mph (I was in a test Diablo (2wd) at Laguna Seca that did exactly that), that's a lot of power, having in a VT would be awesome to keep the power to the ground rather than spinning the wheels. "V12 Engineering" was Al's company and you see that name on the engine covers
  9. Actually, none of the big players would be doing much with EV if it wasn't for the 2012 EPA 'Mandate' of 54.5MPG (which is not feasible for a 'fleet average' of all vehicles the majors produce..) that mandate has a target year of 2025, that's what has the majors moving...not Tesla... http://www.motortrend.com/news/epa-relaxes...l-economy-2025/
  10. Think of it this way, you have the car you want (if not correct, skip the rest of this reply), finding it again in the future is going to be difficult and to find it in a condition you will accept could be even more difficult. Buying used cars is always a labor of love, and if you have the car you want, keep it, at least start it every few months to keep the engine internals oiled. Finding a solid used car in good condition can be very difficult. And then, even if you find one, it might need a lot of loving (engine out work, etc) but the current owner may want 'full price' anyway, and then you have a stand off. So, if you have room to store the car (at your home or offsite -- storage locker might be 2-3K per year and you can turn off most of your auto insurance during that time other than comprehensive) and can start it up every few months, keep it, you'll have what you want and can use it when you want to, can't beat that. At one time I didn't drive one car for over 10+ years! (not a Lambo but a great car I still have and occasionally use) and had to have engine gone through to get all the gaskets replaced, etc (hence need to start it up). But never thought of selling
  11. Thanks, how do you know they are going to release actual production numbers in the next year or so, that would be awesome to know. Based on 3000 total and 34% to "the Americas" that would mean about 1000 in the US, that seems high since so few are for sale. Checking Carguru website just now, shows 131 Italias+Spiders (2014+2015 only), 25 Speciale and 4 Speciale Aperta On the Speciale A, if 499 were made and 34% came to US (170) and 4 are for sale that is about 2.4%, apply that to the number of Speciale's that would point to 1062 Speciale's in the US ... but, then again that would mean 5,567 Italia's and Spiders in the US for 2014-2015 and we know that's not possible...(too high) So, maybe 3000 total production is spot on,personally I think it is about half of that, time will tell, thanks edit: also consider that all 458 Speciale's are still listed at prices higher than original msrp (regardless of miles), from 10% over to more than 20% over and the same cannot be said for any 458 Italia's including 458 Spiders - seems to presume the production numbers are small for the 458 Speciale...very small, perhaps less than 500 in the US, anyway, would be nice if Ferrari published the actual numbers ... edit2: Just found on ebay 142317882780 a low price, still above original msrp...but is salvage title, still over msrp...!
  12. From Ferrari 2015 Annual Report, page 36 http://corporate.ferrari.com/sites/ferrari...eb_25_final.pdf Total V8 production including 458 Speciale (2013,2014,2015) and 458 Speciale A (2014,2015) 2013 3,944 2014 3,651 2015 3,534 Presuming very few Speciale were made as 2013 models (none I am aware of came to the US) that means total Speciale production is included in 2014,2015 or 7,185 cars. We can reduce that by 499 (Special A production...could be more) so total V8 production that includes Speciale (again I am excluding 2013 since none came to USA) is 6,686 based on the number of (2014+2015) 458 Spider & 458 Italia's currently available on cars.com (131) vs 458 Speciale (18) (note, Cali is counted as GT car, so not included here) a "rough percentage" is 88% vs 12% so, if that follows, 6686 total V8 production for 2014+2015 would yield >802 and if you refer to the % of cars delivered by geographic region (page 35 in annual report), about 34% came to USA (probably a little less as that number includes cars to Mexico, Canada, Central&South America and Caribbean, but, let us just say it is 34%) then about >273 (even if you presume every V8 made and that was shipped to the USA was a Speciale that would be 34% of 6886 or 2273, so, the number in the USA has to be a smaller number) now, even if you double that (1604) (546 if 34% came to USA) that is still about half of 3300, so I am very curious where you found 3300 as the production number for 458 Speciales... thanks
  13. There were 2 Monterey Editions in Verde Scandal, mine has the purple/blue interior, the other had black. I say the other because many years ago it was repainted purple (not certain if anniversary or not) after an accident, so only 1 Verde Scandal remains
  14. The in-tank sender might be corroded, might try replacing it...(had issue like this on my SE30, replaced the sender, all better) and if you ever let the car sit for more than 1 week make sure the fuel tank is topped off (to keep the moisture off the sender) -J
