E-Gear fluid change ?

Has anyone done an e-gear fluid change ? My e-gear is now 12 years old, and has performed faultlessly for 36K miles. Every other fluid in the car has been changed more than once by now. The fluid level has never gone down, but I'm sure it must have broken down somewhat or absorbed water. I read of the others' horror stories on the board, and wonder if a fluid change may be a wise bit of preventative maintenance.

Anyone done a fluid change for the sake of it ?

I did it on my 30k+ mile LP560, strictly as preventative maintenance. You could clearly tell the fluid was deteriorated. It did require a Lambo computer to bleed the system.

For the cost and time involved, well worth the insurance imo. Better than replacing an actuator or pump down the line.

When I had my 97.5 Diablo VT Roadster, I was in the habit of changing all the fluids. My current Murcielago Roadster is no different. I haven't verified that the egear system requires a computer to aid in the fluid change. Since I couldn't find a drain plug per se, and of course the manual always says " take to an authorized Lamborghini service center" I use my Griot's garage bleeder pump to just pump out the fluid in the reservoir and replace with fresh fluid once a year. Over time, it will cycle all fresh fluid through.

Given that the clutch only lasts about 22k miles, you know you're getting fresh fluid at that interval of time.
