Here are my personal recommendations:

Laser Jammers:

Recommended:
Laser Interceptor(http://www.laser-interceptorusa.com/) - The best jammer on the market, comes highly recommended. I run this jammer in my Ford GT and so far I've had 100% success rate on jamming lasers. The 4-head setup protects from both front and rear laser.

Laser Pro Park (http://www.laserprotectorusa.com/) - I run this jammer on my Gallardo SL and also have used it in the past on my Murci. It has saved me countless times. When I bought it they only offered a 2-head front protection setup, but they now offer a 4-head setup for rear protection as well. It is slightly less effective than the LI but overall a very good jammer.

Radar Detectors:

Recommended:
Valentine One - The best detector on the market. Can easily be upgraded to latest hardware/firmware by sending unit to manufacturer for updates.
Passport 9500 - Similar to the V1, seems to provide approximately the same detection range for front threats. Not as good as the Valentine One on rear detection.

Avoid at all cost

K-40 (both jammers and detectors) - I run these on my Gallardo SL as well [it came with the car], this unit is completely worthless.

Thanks for the review/write up. Been thinking of picking up both but didn't know who's the best.

sprite do you run just the LPP/Laser Interceptor or do you use them in addition to the v1/9500?

It would be most effective to use a laser interceptor mounted in the front and rear, then a v1 or 9500 (I have and prefer the V1) inside the car for normal Ka, K , X band radar.

Anyone have any stories with laser jammers I would love to hear, or stories where they DIDN'T work...

Yes you need to run both a Laser Jammer + a radar detector.

The best combo is V1 + Laser Interceptor.

I have Blinder M45 and Valentine 1 hardwired on my Cayenne. So far has worked very well. Also have Laser interceptor, but have not had it installed. Going to have Jammer and Radar installed in the G next week, but still not sure whether to go with Blinder or Laser Intercepter. I think the cheesey voice on LI will start to annoy me very quickly.

Do you want cheesy voice or tickets? smile.gif

Honestly it's only during startup you have to listen to it, the siren when it goes off is loud as hell though.

And can they notice that you are jamming them (if you don't switch it off on time), does it have any downsides?

Recently with the Blinder M45, I have had a lot of false alarms when close to either a Lexus or Infinity due to the laser aided cruise control. Do you have the same problem with LI?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread: can anyone tell me how you mount the laser heads on a gallardo, did you have to cut/drill the bumper? and where did you position them?

Cut into the grills in the bumper. The heads can't have anything covering them.

I have used V1 since 2001, been on four cross-country road rallies, go on many spirited drives and it has never let me down (I have gotten tickets). My original unit was stolen this past July. So I purchased a used unit from a friend. I highly suggest running one.

A friend of mine has this set up on his 996T, color inc has it too. I am waiting on my current car situation to make the move for Blinder (I run V1). This is a great set up.
