Aardvark Report post Posted August 24, 2017 Hello, I have read many "how to program a new key", but my problem is a little different. I have a new key and can get the fob to work on the doors, but when I try to start the car the engine cranks but will not fire up. As soon as I put the old key in and crank, it fires up. A key coding problem with the new key to the car I am assuming. Anybody experience this or is it a trip to the dealership which has bankers hours? AMHParts Report post Posted August 25, 2017 If you purchased a new key and it has not been coded to the car by a dealer yet, then it will not work until they do unfortunately.
Ag02M5 Report post Posted August 25, 2017 I believe there are some places out there that can copy the transponder chip from the old key to new but I'd probably just have the dealer set it up properly.
