  1. LOL!! Yes it does seem a little out of alignment? Thanks I will try that!! quote name='topcabron' date='Apr 21 2017, 02:43 PM' post='1277708'] Looks like you need to sell it...... and cheap J/k Is the alignment off now? I had this happen in the Diablo I think it will take two people to get the door up One person in the inside with the latch, the other on the button out side
  2. Hello, Closed the passenger door on my 1988.5 Contact today and it did not latch so I tried it again with a little more force though still gentle and this time it closed but now It will not budge at all no matter how hard I try form the inside and out? Has anyone had any experience with this and a possible solution..,? Thanks in advance!
  3. Strangely enough Evans said it does not.. 1 out of 8 he says does not. Mine unfortunately is that 1 of 8. Bumps the cost up a couple K.
  4. Thank you all for your honest feedback!! Really appreciate it!
  5. Hello all...I've been on this forum before and have shown photos here of the 1988.5 I bought In January of 2014...So almost 2 years ago...Currently it is undergoing serious work to the engine among other things... After it is done it will be better than new...Since it is at Evans Automotive getting this done I also had him completely remove all the components for the USA bumpers and had him even redo the entire back end so the molding on the back of the car is gone and now it is just the flat rear-end and taillights...I have always preferred this look... Now this leads to my question regarding the side strakes...I like the pure look with out all of the moldings....And I am planning on having these removed as well...SO after this the only thing distinguishing this to be a 88.5 is the digital AC controls.. Do those on this forum is this a OK thing to do...If I could have gotten my hands on a affordable 84-86 I would have but as we all know that became difficult...I plan on keeping this for along time and hope taking these modifications off does not hurt the value...Your thoughts please? Thanks
  6. Thank you all for your feed back!!! Really appreciate everything!!!! If I was to replace gaskets what is a best guess as to cost?? Thanks!!!! Jim
  7. Help! I have a 88 Countach with 5k miles that has had some coolant appearing under the car... Since having it if say it would be a few drips here and there but the other day there was quite a large puddle... So I took it to my local mechanic who believes it pry needs new head gaskets since it appears that is where the leak is originating...since I have owned the car for less than 6 months I contacted whom I bought it from since it was not from something I did while driving it. They sound that they will stand behind the car but insist on waiting till I can drive the car ... Here is what they said (Hi Jim, We have similar situations all the time with cars that do not get driven regularly. There is no guarantee that heat cycling the engine will cure the problem, but in our experience in many cases it will. Sometimes it requires a re- torque of the fasteners holding the component where the leak is coming from, in this case the cylinder heads, but often times the leaks just go away when the engine is exercised. ) Has anyone experienced this?? In the mean time I have contacted George Evans and he insists that it will not fix itself and that what is needed is a engine out to properly diagnose and pry new gaskets. So my mechanic and G. Evans believes it's the gaskets and they need to be replaced while seller believes it could fix itself. Does anyone have experience with this or serious thoughts either way. Anything is greatly appreciated. Thanks Jim

  10. Need to post a better pic but this is only one on PC
  11. Island Guy, Thank you for your feedback! The car is currently being gone over and I hope to have some answers as to the coolant after I drive with the new ignition system. also any thoughts in regards to the new ignition not being able to have a auto fuel pump shut off in case of accident? Thanks! Jim
  12. I am as of August this year a proud owner of my ultimate childhood dream car ...I have always loved this forum and all things Countach in it. My car is a 1988.5 with 4700 miles and is in pristine condition... To this forum I have some questions.. What if any is any is a acceptable amount of oil drips found under the car as well as coolant. Also the car has currently not been driven for 1.5 months due to it dying on me at a stop light.( Luckily I was able to get it started again within 10 minutes..but wow did I feel like a idiot). I live in the Chicago area and have had a hard time getting my mechanic to come check it which is why it has not been driven..So any mechanic suggestions is appreciated as well. Second question is I recently brought to a different mechanic who has experience with Lambos... he found the problem to be a Bad ignition box/system and the new system should be here in the next couple days so hopefully back on road next week. Does anyone have experience with this happening? He mentioned that new system would not have a automatic fuel pump cut off in case of a accident? Not sure how i feel about that even though most similar cars of that era and prior pry did not have that feature either..Thanks for hearing me out and any and all feed back is immensely appreciated. Jim
