Aventador SV TT's?

He is pussy footing around the corners lol . It is hard enough to get 700 or 800hp to hook up coming out of corner, never mind 1400hp+ . It can be done, yes, but it would require the entire car to be re-engineered in order to be safe. If a chassis is designed to handle 700hp, the factory over enigneer the car to let's say 900 hp, i am just using a figure per se as i don't the exact parameters. Now when you pump out double the hp, every component of the chassis is super stressed and will eventually fail.

The engine and transmission are the easier parts, as the tuners have shown they have the know how to make engines with stupid hp and make them last, on the street anyway .

The rest of the car will need to be completely overhauled and re-engineered , not a small task and a super expensive one. It would make no sense from a commercial point of view as the customer base would be very small or almost no existent.

I don't think he's a professional, but yea, 1250 is not that common, but 1000whp track cars are.

I'd LOVE to see you race LPDaddy in a 1250hp gallardo vs a non modded one around a track.

 

This is not about me , i have no axe to grind with anyone here, nor am i challenging anyone to a track day.

Forget about the track, one of the joys of owning a Lambo, besides the looks and performance of the engine is the handling of the cars.

I am not a fan of the V12'S as they are tanks, fabulous high speed cruisers but still too heavy for aggressive track days. But the Gallardo/Huracan chassis is fabulous , the cars are just planted in the corners.

Fortis and i beat up on a stock Gallardo for 5 days during the 50th aniversary event, a lot of the driving was in the twisties in the mountains and the car did not skip a beat.

We did manage to cook the brakes twice, but even then, i am not complaining as we really pushed the car hard , and it did not require that much concentration.

Should we have done the same in a 1400hp gallardo, we would have been exhausted as the level of concentration required to keep that much hp on the road would have been phenomenal, and that is what i am getting at.

Ultimately, it is up the individual and what suits their fancy or their driving style . I think it ks a waste of time,some will agree and others won't

I agree with the points you have made.

 

From my own real world experience with my UR stage 3 tt, at our local track, i asked a very experienced race driver to take me for a couple of fast laps around the track- barbagallo raceway, Perth- so I could feel as a passenger how the car went.

 

We were running the 1150rwhp tune, no traction control. He made it look easy- no drama, car hooked up well on turns, no sliding, insane speed down the straight-240km/hr. As a passenger, a touch scary for me- eek!

 

He did comment that chassis felt it was at its limit with this much power, getting some front end lift over rises and needed bigger brakes than the 390 mm Alcons.

 

He also advised don't try this at home to me. Even though this track is a power track, he said about 600 rwhp is really all you needed to drive fast and be comfortable and put in respectable lap times.

 

So I then took the car around the track at 1150 rwhp, spun out on the third turn with a 'wtf just happened"!! -eek.

 

I then drove the rest of the day on the track with the 'valet' 800 rwhp tune and felt a lot more relaxed with no drama and a lot more comfort. Lap times not super fast, as I am no race car driver by any stretch of the imagination, but at least at the valet mode tune, I felt like the car was not trying to kill me!

 

On my recent drive around Tasmania with the Lamborghini Club of Australia, driving on Targa Tasmania roads, the drive was quite comfortable and not too scary at the 800-1000rwhp setting.

 

The 1150rwhp setting is way too much for the road IMHO.

 

But I do like the half mile and 1000 metre sprints, and the high speeds that can be achieved safely in a straight line at 1275 rwhp -200mph+ are a buzz!

 

I concur with Fortis that street racing is a no-no as innocents should never suffer.

In my callow youth, this wisdom eluded me!

 

I do love my UR tt car:)

Thank you for your comment. Just telling it how it was.

 

I forgot to mention that we were running R888's properly warmed up on the track and I also had the R888's on the car driving around Tasmania.

 

The race driver controlled the car very well as I said with the R888's.

 

My control on the track at 1150rwhp, even with R888's, was how would you say politely - very sub optimal!!!

 

I would never try the track with big power on street tyres -that would be suicide!

Now obviously there's no twisties bends and all that jazz, but you can get an idea that it's pretty manageable around turns.

 

Hey that's Cal Speedway not to far from me. It's not a technical track and never really liked it in races...hard to pass. Really only 4 turn segments. But the fun is for high HP cars to hit top speeds on the ROVAL segment. I've had my 16M on that track and hit around 160ish on the ROVAL segment.

I wonder how fast that Huracan got up to on the ROVAL. Too bad the camera work was so shoddy, couldn't see the turns clearly. It would be tough to drive that TT at Laguna Seca.

Indeed!

 

The run down through the infamous corkscrew would be a challenge for a TT!

 

I went to the track in my UR TT, but couldn't get on it that day for a drive.

The guy said he hit 189MPH

Is it better to TT the car right from factory so that the components all work together and meld in harmony, or is it better to break the car in and then TT?

Both of mine had delivery miles only when sent to UGR.

Never an issue with either one.

There's not really a right or wrong answer for this quetion. It really just depends on the owner. Breaking in the car isn't needed since they do that for you when they street tune your car after they are finished with the build.
