Hey guys, so got in to a gnarly wreck the other day via a car turning in to me smashing me up against another car (sandwiched) bike was destroyed and I was beat up. Once I was off the road safely The driver ran over and gave me his phone number. I ended up talking to him via text, he offered to pay all damages. (cool I would of taken that to save the hassle of everything.) But then later turned and wanted to go to insurance. He ended up dodging me when I tried to get his information. Had to go to the LAPD, they started to file a felony hit and run, they called the guy and told him he as X minutes to respond. And once he did, got all his information/insurance. And now I am sitting here with his insurance company case handler not returning any calls or responding to multiple voicemails left. With a totaled bike, and out of work.

Does anyone here practice law down here that can help me or know of anyone that could. I have and trying to contact a few, but no go, and don't really know how to start this process.

Or if anyone can help me out in general, or someone who has been through something of this sort.

Thanks

-Tee

I'm sorry, I don't know any accident lawyers in that area, but I'm very glad that you're okay. I was run over while riding my bike a few years ago. It's a terrifying experience and I know how you must feel. I hope you get every expense paid for and compensated for what you had to go through.

Also, I'll reach out to a friend in LA with a lot of connections and see if we can get you hooked up with someone.

When my stepdad was smashed by a car while riding his road bike, through his friends in the cycling community in Kansas City, he found a lawyer that specialized in bike vs car crashes. Unfortunately I can't help with references in CA.

Hope you heal up quick and find someone good to help with the legal side of things.

You call the man, Bob Mionske. Former Olympian cyclist turned accdient lawyer specializing in bicycle related accidents. He would be my first call, and then go from there.

I don't think he practices in California, but I know he does Oregon. He will likely refer you to the best guy there is to take your case.
