S or SV

Been kicking around the idea of getting a SV again.

I had a 50th Anniversary 720 for a couple years. Drove it 200 miles in 21 months-didn't like it at all.

Couple weeks ago I went and drove a SV and I thought it was much better than the 50th. This next week I'm going to drive a S.

I really like the looks of the SV over the S. The new technology in the S is pretty cool.

I'm going to drive which ever car I get often, I've been doing the Bentley thing the past couple years and am board. I have a F12 now and it puts me to zzz as well. I want something with balls not refinement.

Thx

Then you are not going to like the S. It's an absolutely capable car and with the 4WS, at times it almost feels like it's defying physics. But it does everything so well in complete refinement so much so that it has almost taken the bull out of the equation. It's like the transition from the 2008 Gallardo Superleggera to the LP560-4: performance-wise, the 560 eclipsed the SL in every aspect but it also took out the rawness which the SL had plenty and which everyone enjoyed.

With your back problems if you get an SV opt for the comfort seats.

Very true. The sports seats are tough on those without back problems (though I confess I have them in mine) let alone those with a bad back like Eric. The S that I drove has the S-trim seat option and it felt very comfy; definitely more plushy than the standard seats on the original LP700.

Just came back from Lamborghinis Italian tour, 10 sv's and 5 S's amongst the cars, general consensus was S is softer and better to drive but none of the sv owners wanted one, everyone's is sticking with sv, guess it depends on what you want from the car.

S is the better car but SV is special.

SV. I might be driving the S in 2 weeks...let's coordinate offline and maybe we can go the same day. Saw both next to each other and the SV has more presence. I'm sure the S is an awesome and capable machine, but I still think the SV is the best of the best when it comes to Lambo's current offerings.

SV is more special, will hold its value and looks better than the S.

Edit: Here's an S with the "fangs" blacked out which makes the front end look like the SV.

I haven't drove the S yet. Gonna try it out but less than 1% chance I'll get one. SV is the plan 100%.

Thx to everyone for their opinion, good lookin out!!

S may feel smoother while driving but I would go with SV any day. SV looks so much better, aggressive, proper lambo look, filled with carbon fiber, also feels more aggressive while driving, it's lighter, has a bit more hp, more downforce, plus if I'm correct it will depreciate in value a lot slower than the S, and eventually someday the price may rise again, but that's just my opinion

  • 2 weeks later...

Just did a proper back to back for an hour in an S, I really like it, smooth power delivery, better gearbox more comfortable, in essence it is much more Huracan like and it is like a totally different model car to the SV.

Weirdly it feels more nimble and smaller somehow, was much more impressed with it that i was expecting. If i didn't have an SV i would have one in a second.

Getting back in thew SV all i could think was how much more aggressive it is, the cabin noise, jerks on acceleration and tougher brakes, etc. SV feels way faster but i imagine its the experience and there is nothing in it in reality.

Just 2 totally different cars, you will like one or the other as they are just not really comparable. The main point that got me is corsa in the S is loud unlike SV and very good to drive on the road, it would be my preferred mode its not jumpy except at high rpm which is nice, in the SV it is pretty much un-drivable in corsa on the road as it is so aggressive, bumpy jerky and heavy steering. It does mean that you are in no doubt it is not a normal car though and adds something special from that department.

It would be a tough call as to which to pick now i would say its a case of you could own both S and SV as they do different jobs and feel so different, S you could now drive everyday, SV you just wouldn't.

SV looks better though inside and out

The smaller feeling is because of the four wheel steering which works very well on the S. I kick myself for not ordering an SV a couple years back . The SV imo is special car and will retain it's value and it also looks drop dead gorgeous , I'm still not sold on the looks of the S.

Doesn't SV have 4 wheel steering as well? Mine feels "smaller" than the regular Aventador

Update:

The S is much more comfortable for sure. That's what Rolls and Bentley's are for IMO.

I drove a SV and its light years better than the 50 anniversary I owned and didn't like much.

The SV is still soft action compared to a Diablo GTR lol ;) however much much faster.

I'm looking around for the right SV now, pretty certain i'm buying one.

Now the question is what do i do with my F12? I suppose i could just be "comfortable" in it. It's a nice car but not very exciting.

The SV is the plan for sure over the S, and seems from the word on the street the SV will probably hold a little of its value over time. However if I do buy one i'm gonna drive the piss out of it, I dont drive everyday or have a commute but it will be my primary driver unless I need a 4 passenger car or space for something.

appreciate all the feed back.

best

eric
