  1. Saw it Saturday with my wife and kid, everyone liked it. My daughter was a little put off by the end until I explained the movies to come, and then she was better with it. It didn't feel like a 2.5 hour movie IMO.
  2. That's where being a parent comes in. The movie can create questions for kids, which as parents we can answer to the best of our ability. I welcome questions from my kid, it shows she is bright, observant and willing to question things she is shown. And as 40y/o conservative, I doubt I am going to be influenced by a movie and its political agenda and I would assume most other ppl won't as well. IMO it is unfortunate that people can't let their own politics get out of the way of enjoying simple things in life, or see through someone else politics and strip it down to its simple entertainment value.
  3. Saw it, liked it. Not as good as Ragnarok, but entertaining all the same. IMO, leave your politics at the door and watch the movie for the entertainment value.
  4. I opened a coinbase account the other day and picked up for Litecoin. But I then opened a Coinsquare account and moved my holdings to it as Coinbase wouldn't let me sell my ANY of my holdings. My understanding is that Coinbase doesn't provide for sales to Canadian customers. Coinsquare is a Toronto based company that a member of my firm said he uses. I like Coinsquare so far. The app is OK and it has direct deposits from Canadian banks.
  5. Saw it opening night. I am not a DC fanboy and didn't expect much, and it delivered pretty much as expected. The lows - The CGI was poor overall. The plot was predictable. The bad guys in general were overall meh.. The highs - Gal Gadot, she is simply hot. Superman coming back a little more badass. Mamoa was good, I also liked the Flash most of the time. The Flash got a little overly awkward sometimes too.
  6. I went through all that in my last new build. I've had 2 new builds, the first was pretty straight forward. A few minor issues that were fixed within a couple weeks of taking possession. My current house was a nightmare though. Uncapped plumbing FROM the toilet in the powder room that was unnoticed until I moved in and one of the movers used the toilet and I happened to be in the basement. On top of the drain being uncapped, the spout that water would shoot out is about 8-10 inches from an outlet. No closet doors installed, our glass shower wasn't installed, no mirrors, unfinished trim and dry-wall work, the tile still had grout haze all over (literally every place there was tile). Our keyless deadbolt was installed on the wrong door, when we told the guy which door we wanted it on 5 minutes before he installed it. We caught him in the process of installing it and were like "WTF?, we told you the front door??!" We complained a lot. The traders and guys that came over to fix up the place were generally really good. They were stretched really thin as housing construction up in my area was booming, so everyone and their aunt was getting into the industry. The builder in general was crap. Everyone on my street had fairly big issues with their house, from wrong ceiling height (8 foot vs 9 being what it was supposed to be), wrong cabinetry, just poor build quality. So yeah, this crap happens. I hope your house is in better shape when finished than mine. Unfortunately my contract provided the standard wording that the house had to be "inhabitable", which means a roof, water, electricity and a toilet. So I had no choice but to take possession. However, thanks to the warranties regulated up here, we got it fixed. You will have to suffer through a bit. My suggestion is to always be nice to the trades that are there to fix the problems and take out your anger on the people at the office. That seemed to work for me.

    Kim Jong Un

So I guess my coworkers trip to South Korea this Friday was poorly timed.....
  8. Saw it Sunday. Was pretty decent. Best DC movie since Nolan's Batman series. And Gadot is hot.
  9. Being a dad is unlike anything else IMO. As cliche as it sounds, your life changes the day you become a parent. As others have mentioned, that you have seeking advice and have concern about how you will act shows your character. Being a good person is pretty much the easiest thing in the world, and that is all you have to do to show your kid what a good role model looks like.
  10. If you don't already have a franchise lawyer in Canada, I can refer you to one. He works in a smaller firm in Toronto, where he focuses on franchising.
  11. Notice how the vote split down political lines. The left being the bigger number at the moment.... I am pretty annoyed by this. It is knee-jerk-socialistic-"progressive" speak. IMO, if someone is charged with saying something "anti-islamic", I have a feeling the courts would slap it down hard. Free speech means saying this that people don't like sometimes, that may hurt their feelings.
  12. The premise was from an off-shoot comic series called "Old Man Logan". While I cannot say whether it actually follows the comic as I haven't read it, from what I have heard from those that have read the comic, is that it has the aura of the comic.
  13. Agreed. Well written and acted IMO. One of the best comic book movies they've done so far.
  14. Not sure I agree....all are pretty much hideous. All of these cars are a result of either: a. doing something simply to say you did it; or b. more money than taste. And likely some combination of the two.
  15. In Canada, pedestrians are supposed to follow the rules of the road, just like cars. If a car gets to the intersection first, they supposed to be allowed to go first. Skateboarders also must abide by stop signs. It is possible, though unknown here, whether the skateboarder simply rolled through an intersection right in front of the Mac that got there first. The Mac may have saw him last second, hit the horn, causing the skateboarder to finally pay attention. Again, all hypothetical as we simply don't see what happened. Either way, notwithstanding who was at fault, the kid over reacted and I hope he got his ass beat for it. Given the speed of it all, he didn't even give the Mac owner an opportunity to apologize if he was at fault, before raging and damaging the car. Simple stupidity if you ask me.
