  1. I have had similar issues in the past on various vehicles--the solution i have used is to take it apart enough to recut the angles on the handle where it contacts the gear teeth--overtime the pulling of the lever rounds the original sharp mating surfaces off and allows the problem you are experiencing to occur---use one of the other units you have to get a better idea on what the engagement surfaces should look like---btw do no grind this area --it is a hand file job only--you do not want to heat it up and soften the metal hope this makes sense
  2. seems like a huge loss from stated hp numbers --isn't stock flywheel supposed to 470? over 20% loss to wheels seems like a lot or maybe never was 470 in first place
  3. to actually answer your question--If all the parts in the disc etc are actually reman'd --springs changed ----fingers good and substrate straight and true and the new lining of as good as if not better than oem quality i would see no reason not to go ahead with reman unit--but that is a lot of ifs so to speak--i used some reman clutch in a supercharged s-2k for a while with upgraded friction material and higher clamp pressure from the pressure plate and it was a real improvement but it was NOT cheaper than an oem unit just superior--don't forget at the bottom of it the clutch pack for any vehicle is not made by the oem (ie Lambo) and we have no idea how many vendors there are making them for OEM and what quality levels they actually have--many manufacturers have multiple vendors for this kind of stuff so assuming that there is some kind of superior made by little lambo guys stuff going on is probably not reasonable to assume-
  4. FWIW---Ground wires are always a really good idea---I think that the temperature difference actual causes condensation in the drum which falls out as water into the fuel--A drum container made to hold all 55 gallons in case of a spill may solve a lot of the problems--i would not want have someone accidentally knock over or punch a hole in 50 gallon of high octane fuel w/o some plan for dealing with it--
  5. kind of makes me a little uncomfortable in the back of my throat (interior that is) outside is fine---think there aboy25-30k out of touch on price point--go for 170K and see if they snort in your face or pause for a second --then adjust as needed if you really really want--i would really need it bad to deal with creme de menthe and cream interior imho
  6. there is a 2001 diablo with a GT kit that has been for sale a couple different places--currently in Ky ---is this a actual 1 of 5 Lambo kits? and who did the work--- ZA9DU01B21LA12651 is lasted as the vin--when in vegas it had chrome wheels --now in ky has black wheels-- vin decoder says it is/was a 6.0 liter VT car originally but indicates error on year digit thanks in advance if anyone knows-- also appears to have gained $30k in asking price in last year- value opinions??
  7. I have had lousy results with redtops in the last 3 years or so--i was told they moved manufacturing out of country--?? my son has gone thru a couple also--i'm currently running a lithium battery--we will see--keep battery tender on it -wouldn't have bought but got from someone who no longer needed/wanted it
  8. I think a big part of this ongoing debate has to do with how comfortable you really are with a gearbox (manual) If its were you started out on and you drive it without having to give it any conscious then that,s the way you tend to want to go--unfortunately a large number of people i have encountered really don,t drive a stick like its second nature at all---its quite different thing going from a 4 cylinder box with a stick to a Lambo or similar beast--my friend has a ZR-1 and it just makes me cringe and causes him a near nervous breakdown whenever the traffic or road causes something a little out of his comfort zone--He drove through New hampshire last fall on fal foliage tour and tells horror stories of actually having to back and turn because of a Stop sign at top of a hill---yet he will argue that he handles the shifter very well indeed--i grew up on a 3 speed 6 cyylinder mustang in the 60,s in western pa--you either learned to handle the thing or you learned how to do clutch replacements--thats quite an incentive i think
  9. fwiw--i have had some experience with the tach on the dash not reacting as quickly as the fuel cutoff---sometimes in lower gears with snappy application of throttle the the thing will bounce off the rev limiter before you actually see the physical needle get there--
  10. I think lotus (from my experience) is like hitting yourself in the side of the head with a hammer---except i only have 10 bucks in the hammer and eventually my head quits hurting00the lotus is like terminal earache
  11. yea thats too bad --really interested in a manual 2wd car---
  12. all things considered as they say-- -2 or -4 as a daily driver i like the awd gtr but haven't been able to get a reasonable idea of which gallardo really is a better handling--- to answer where some city/suburban traffic but a large amount of twisty turny not \\\
  13. well that seems to answer that--thought maybe one of this owner/dealer p***ing contests but obviously not so
  14. This probably already been discussed but any background on the blue 550-2 balboni in dallas---fine print says lemon law return--i think its at straightahead (sp) or something like that
