I thought these were only limited to middle east or something? I do recall some owners on L4P. But I had forgotten it even existed

EDIT: Quick Google and I see that it looks to be US available for MY16. Pretty crazy. That's some price difference over a G63.

Yeah, it's fantastic. But IMHO the winner of the 16s is the 550 with air.

G65 pulls like a freight train. G550 is pretty much the perfect version of the G and still has the AMG motor (4.0 from the GT-S). The nose on the 65 is really heavy obviously. Everyone I polled said the 63 sounds the loudest, but the 65 sounds like a V12. Deeper, not a screamer.

16's 63 have an updated front end which is considerably stronger and smoother.

I would wait, right now MS is just making the basic bitch version. In about 2 months they are going to make the Manukatur versions with CF leather, and by May you can go full Manukatur on the entire truck.

I am starting an global G Wagen owners and adventure club and can hook you up with a serious discount+ delivery anywhere in the COTUS.

That sounds like good info but I must admit I don't follow. My G65 will be here end of next month so I am very curious what will be available soon as you say. I don't like the fake carbon fiber leather but do wish I had more interior choices.

This sounds Awesome!

Where are you located? I'd really like to see what the G can do on some serious terrain.

You can essentially get whatever you want for the interior in a few months. Price goes up a bit but whatever you want, you can get. It's essentially Ad Personam for the G Wagen. Dash board trim pieces, steering wheel leather colors, seat materials (not just leathers anymore). Options that were on the 6x6, 4x4, 35 Editions come to the U.S., fender color options, roof options, the list goes on and on.

I just purchased a G63 and pereferred it over the 550 by quite a it. The 16' 550 looks great with some of the changes, just it still feels under powered, mostly because of how heavy the truck is. I love the sound of the G63, so I'd imagine the G65 sounds incredible, but I would probably get tired of it because of it being too loud.

The adventures club sounds cool and I'm excited to to see the Manukatur options.

Those G wagons are built like a tank, my brother's G550 got rear ended from a female busy texting instead of looking where she was going and all the damage he got was a slight dents while the female's full size Chevy truck's front end was smashed in to the block. Made me like the G even more.

The turbo v12 is usually quieter than the v8's.
