SE30 Brake improvement help required

I am in the process of replacing the pads on my 1995 SE30.

The old ones (sorry not sure what they are at the moment) offer very little feel, especially when cold.

What's the general consensus in 2016 of what is the best replacements to improve feel and cold stopping power?

Any suggestions greatly welcomed.

What about rotors?

Are they standard Diablo?

I like Hawk HPS for street cars. Good bite, little fade, little dust and they are soft enough to not chew up your rotors.

I can't find aftermarket rotors for the early cars.

There are 355mm x 32mm (front) and 328mm x 28mm (rear) Brembo GT big brake kits available. The kits update the calipers with a modern 4 piston Brembo GT design, lightweight two piece rotors, stainless steel braided brake lines and brake pads.

PM me for pricing.

I'm not sure if just new pads are enough.

Mine had upgraded brakes. Unfortunately I don't know what parts they are.

Either way, they worked very good. Front was 360 mm I think.

I believe a fix for the often maligned brakes on pre-'97.5 Diablos is the "McLaren F1" Brembo big brake kit that many owners have retrofitted to their cars.

Mine were supposed to be F1, but they rotors look nothing like them at least.

From pictures, it looks like the McLaren had Brembo race calipers. Brembo now has a GTR kit available and here is a video showing the differences.

Long story short, the racing & GTR applications are great for race cars or heavily tracked street cars.

Those look like Brembo GT calipers. No clue on the rotors.
