That price range is what I was thinking. They are asking $139K for that car. I would offer somewhere in that range. I have been fortunate to have owned a CT and a Diablo Roadster ( 85 LP5000S and 97 1/2 Roadster) but missed out on owning a Miura as I was born a generation too late to get one when they were inexpensive. Your philosophy is spot on in that a lot of this stuff is based on self control. I spent many years acquiring, at different times, all ( or most) of the cars I dreamed or read about as a kid in the 70's and 80's. I think now that temptation has come and gone as there isn't very much left to own that I can afford. The old cars are now way out of reach for me; Miuras, Ferrari Daytona spyders, Dinos, Boxers (owned a 77 though) and even CTs if I ever thought of owning one again. So the Gallardo is the only exotic left that does it for me. I like the pre-LP versions from prior experience but may need to test a newer LP version before I decide what will be the final car and exercise that self control. Thanks again!

Thank you for your response and those are all good points. My main point is the decision to wait the 18 months until my lease is up ( which of course, is the best option) or to purchase an older , less expensive model to enjoy at this moment. I would really like to finally find an exotic that I will keep instead of continually chasing the next best thing. I hear there are many car guys like me. I have owned an 07 spyder and enjoyed it, but the desire to try something else got the best of me and I got rid of it. I have finally found the daily driver and the motorcycle that I will keep. I would like to do that with my choice of exotic car. If I can accomplish that, I will be satisfied automotively speaking. Any idea what an 07 coupe base model with 7K miles is worth in today's economy?

Yes, I had thought of a similar plan. I initially thought I wanted a Spyder Performante when my lease ends in about 18 months but after seeing it in person, I really didn't like it as much. The red 07 coupe looked much more nice a car with it's simplistic design and beautiful color. They are asking $139K which I think may be a bit high for a base model coupe with the only options being the glass bonnet and a worn alcantara steering wheel. It has 7K miles and a slightly worn left driver seat bolster but looks nice otherwwise. Is this price a bit high in today's market? I think the newer car still has a god bit of depreciation left as opposed to the older model. I would have to buy out the lease into the purchase of the car and enjoy it now or wait for the 18 months and get a newer LP version. Still not sure. I appreciate the input.

Hello fellow Lambopower members. I have been without a Lambo since I traded my 97 1/2 Diablo Roadster a while ago and now feeling the urge to get another Lambo. (imagine that} I am currently leasing a 2013 Porsche Carrera but only for 24 months currently into it about 7 months. I was looking for what I hope to be my last exotic as I have spent too much time and money buying cars over the years. I was thinking of one of the various LP Gallardos as I have read that they drive so much better than the pre-LP versions. I owned an 07 Gallardo spyder a few years back and have been wanting another as no other car provided the complete package of fun, thrills with reliability and without ridiculous maintenance bills. I took a look at a Spyder Peformante initially at CNC Motors in Ontario, Ca but was more drawn to an 07 coupe in a really beautiful metallic red, unusual for a Lambo, but really beautiful. It is a low milage base car and looks very nice. My dilemma is do I hold out for the newer car until my lease is up or do I live for now and buy the older car and live for the present. I haven't driven any of the LP versions as I understand they are much better in many ways but also read of members who like the feel of the older cars. I had a great time with my 07 G and regret selling it. I know as car guys, we have all be at this crossroad before and I just wanted the opinions of fellow enthusiasts. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for all the replies. I had an '07 Gallardo Spyder E-gear several years ago. I haven't owned a Lambo in a while, but thinking of getting a later model Spyder again. I wasnt aware that there was now a production 2 wheel drive version other than the Balboni Edition. I had no problems with e-gear or my clutch as I learned how to drive it well from all the advice from the guys here before it was delivered to my house.

I was wondering if a driver is less likely to burn out the clutch on this 2 wheel drive version with poor driving habits as oppoosed to the AWD.

Thanks a lot BLACKBULL! I will get one.

That is funny as heck!

So did I as was told to me by Gary Bobileff years ago.

I was wondering if any one knew the exact number and the different types of sensors ( ex: O2 sensors, fuel pressue sensors etc...) which often cause CEL lights to show on 97 Diablo Roadsters and coupes. Thanks in advance if so.

Wow!

Well spoken and I agree 100%. Very few production cars are an investment. Just buy one because you want one and because you can!

Wow! How funny. I usually end up ignoring all the idiots in their souped up Hondas and Toyotas when they try to bait me into a race that they obviously can't win. I had a lot of this in my CT and my G Spyder when I had them. My biggest fear was racing with one of those fools and killing myself or worse some innocent person to win a meaningless race. Awesome video though and it shows that Lambos are incredible cars to have for the fortunate few who own them!

Ya I agree with you. I am still in awe of my Roadster after owning it for a few weeks now. I still find reasons to go to the garage to look at it! I had it in the shop for a persistent CEL for about 4 days and when it was delivered back to my house, I was amazed at how small it actually is compared to my other cars. It always seemed so long in pics but it really is a small, low, but wide car! Totally amazing though! Each time I drive it, I get at least one thumbs up and a someone in a car, SUV, or minivan following me with a camera or cell phone shooting a video. I haven't seen myself on Youtube....yet!

That's a thought. I'll try to make some videos. I have been working a lot and get home when it's dark so not able to post many pics or make any videos.
