My gated LP640

I bought this car from Dr. Murcielago who was brokering it for the actual owner. It is unfortunatly a rebuilt title. It had a fire started in the engine bay by accident from a candle i understand. Not only was the extremely minor, fire in the engine bay, (not engine fire!), a very easy fix for Dr Murcielago 3500 miles before I bought it, he was 100% awesome and honest to work with. I bought it sight unseen and everything he said was exactly as described. And I'm a pain in the ass about that stuff! I still felt comfortable paying all the money and then he shipped it. The car is the best car I've ever owned, and I've had some awesome stuff. The gated 640 will blow away my gated Ferrari 599 in every way, obviously including looks! BTW, the fire was started by a candle the owner before Dr Murcielago put on a carbon engine cover. I have detailed pictures of the damage before any repair.

I really haven't touched the car since i got it yet. But it needs new tires, fluids, a serious paint correction. I know i can get it from a 6 to a 9.5 with some scrubbing.

First off, congrats! But I'm curious about your comment on 6-speed LP640 blowing away your 6-speed 599. I would be very curious to hear more about your unbiased comment on that, given that you own both F & L! :-)

I sold the F about 5 months ago. First off the Murci blows the 599 away in looks. It can be argued but my mind is made up. The 599 is super usable like a Honda. The Murci is all drama. Goes great in a straight line and stops well. That's were the performance ends. The 599 is better around the turns. The 599 is difficult to drive. The shift into 2nd needs to happen quickly or revs drop back to idle almost. Especially when driving slow. The flywheel is just light. So there's a serious learning curve. Definitely easy to slip the clutch to the point of messing it up. I have been driving stick for 15 years and it takes a bit to drive the 599 to its potential. The 640 clutch drives like any easy to drive stick car. The AWD also hooks the power great in low gears and rockets you forward. The 599 blazes the tires in the first 2 gears. In a straight line race the 640 will win everytime especially up top. It does have more power srock and my car has secondary cat delete and some exhaust on it too. I got original stuff from Dr Murci too. The most annoying thing about the 599 is after you rev it all the way oit and bang the shiftwr to the next gear the ecu wont let the throttle open quickly. I guess to save the driveline a bit. No such issue in the 640. Don't get me wrong the 599 is refined and awesome but i just like the Lambo so much more.

And dr murcielago definitely does some shazam stuff, but not this car. Or i wouldn't have got it. He was super honest and clean cut with me the entire way. I spent 8 hours collectively on the phone with him and had Auto Gallery lambo PPI it on top.

Not to be a dick and cause any worry, but did you get a thorough PPI? Dr. Murcielago is well known around the parts to be a scammer and a fraud. He misrepresents cars that were involved in accidents by repairing them with half ass work and representing them with light body damage. FYI.

Is drmuricelago Shazam?

Dr. Murcielago is the one that caused the 15 some page thread on how someone got fucked over by a car he misrepresented.

I haven't read everything about him, but I knew there was some fuckery at one point in some other threads. But I did my due diligence to the fullest. He also knew he wasn't getting anything over my head. One of my businesses is an exotic car mechanic shop for the last 17 years. Doc K, I did get a hardcore thourough PPI from Auto Gallery Lambo like I said. Trust me guys, I was sweating bullets, but I saw no sign of foul play during the entire buying process and when the car got here, it was exactly as described. But let me tell you, I worked hard to make sure everything was dialed in. I should have just flown there really, but the Lambo dealer confirmed everything he was saying. I will dig up the engine fire pics and post. I really have no clue about a candle on the carbon cover in the engine bay. He told me that. How he found out is beyond me. I know he bought it from Copart or IAAI or something.

Either way I guess I don't care. It's a lifetime keeper for me hopefully. And I guess prefer this deal to paying 300k + for a clean title low mile car anyway. Every other car Iv'e ever bought has been clean title, and never even paintwork. So this was hard for me, but I feel like I did great. And beggers can't be choosers when it comes to 640 gated.

I thought about selling and buying the high mile car on ebay, but there's really no need. After I clean my car it will be super nice.

I'll post up damaged pics and more nice pics soon. :)

Thanks for the words everyone.

How did your friend find out they were replicas? A good replica is an exact copy of a real wheel.

He sent me an ebay link to a set of Hermera wheels he wanted to buy for his LP640...I could tell they were replicas just from looking at the center caps..I found him another used oem set which he bought later..
