Well all the Senna's are all sold out and they will appreciate like the P1. These are unique cars and for us that own a McLaren and understand the purpose behind the looks of them I think it is an amazing achievement. Whether you like McLaren cars or not their is not one manufacturer that can compete with the existing line for the price point. I have driven a 488 and Huracan and will take my 570s any day over one. The only negative I had with the McLaren line was the sound of the exhaust when I was looking. Then I heard one with an exhaust and knew if I bought one I had to get an exhaust. Felt the same way with my Gallardo and Murcie cars...they had to have an exhaust. With the exhaust it is an amazing sounding car now that I truly love...the turbo wine at idle is just amazing to me since I have never owned something that sounded this way. It reminds me of hearing Tony's TTG and wishing my Lambo sounded that way.

Why would the turbo be whining at idle?? It shouldn't be spooling fast enough to make a whine when the car is idling should it?!

I instantly recognized that rear diffuser. In my childhood at our farm summerplace we had Massey Ferguson 186 combine harvester and I believe it has same diffuser.

Massey Ferguson was light years ahead, would love to see the CFD numbers!

I am not a turbo guy so no idea but every TTG car I have heard that brian at Supercars has worked on and Tony's TTG has that sound which I love at idle. Maybe not a turbo whine so to speak but sounds more like a jet...maybe the turbos sucking in air? Since cat delete you can hear it a lot better than with cats or muffler on my car. Maybe UGR would be able to tell us why you hear the turbos or the jet type sound at idle. All I know is that it is common on cars that have an exhaust and tune on a TT.

Here is a great example of the sound...I personally love the sound...this is same sounds as my car but a UGR build:

Massey Ferguson was light years ahead, would love to see the CFD numbers!

Detailed professional testing at muddy field shows that it has 3630kg of downforce, and that is at static 0km/h speed!

Active aerodynamics add downforce at the rate of 1kg/meter at 5m/s grains squared from straw shieve dm2.

After careful consideration it almost seems to me that it has a cutting board from this japanese rice crispie:

I know mr Senna was deformed in the crash but they are really pushing the legacy here.

You realize that Bosozuko cars are a extreme mimicry of real Group 5 racecars? Splitters work. Big ass splitters work better.

That combine harvester has a nice front diffuser. How fast can it go?

Here's a few racecar diffusers

Everyone pay attention, aerodynamics class is in session with derphurf the guy who developed the aerodynamics on the 918 Spyder as the lead professor :turboalex:

Don’t forget he’s also a high-end IEM/earbuds connoisseur who knows a lot about soundstage too! :turboalex:

Btw, derphurf, among other things, you know nothing about “bosozuko” either. That term applies more to modded bikes and biker gangs than the Japanese car subculture which you also have no idea on what’s actually involved. Nice try but not even remotely close! :lol2:

I was wondering why was he associating them with the car scene when they ride moded bikes with loud or removed exhausts while annoyingly revving the crap out of them.

Yeah, actually I do, and trying to get soundstage from a IEM is like trying to get blood from a stone. Get a speaker setup if you want soundstage. All my favorite headphones aren't known for big soundstage.

Bosozoku was started by motorcycle gangs but the style also carried to cars, of which they were influenced by group 5 race cars.

As far as the diffusers go, wanna tell me why Ford and Aston have same looking diffusers on their top line GTE racecars?

McLaren hasn`t learned a damn thing. They still keep pushing "new" cars out like they are phones.

LOLOLOL!!!

You crack me up! So (a) you basically paraphrased what I and Fellippe said from the earbuds posts and now claim you know something about soundstage. (B ) All your favourite IEM’s cost 4-figures and yet are not known for soundstage, yeah that’s very wise, :lol2: :lol2: and especially when you come up with your “favourite model” which does not exist! So tell us how you can get proper soundstage with a pair of dipole speakers in a 8’ X 8’ X 8’ room then.

Ok, so you are the expert on Japanese culture as well? :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :laughing1: :laughing1: :lol2: :lol2: How does the saying go? “Geez, it’s on the internet so it must be true then!” I can write a 10000 word essay on the modded Japanese car subculture and I am sure a couple of other members can as well but one of them won’t be you; at least not without paraphrasing and plagiarism involved.

Not sure if your Q on diffusers was for me or not but the answer is cost. If one party came up with something that works for others and don’t mind sharing the tech or the cost of sharing is affordable, then why spent the extra $$$ for additional R&D? And in case you don’t know, Ford owned Aston at some point so sharing the tech wound only make sense. And no one ever doubted the functionality of the diffuser. Just that Mac has a way to make it so damn ugly or controversial that it deserves to be making fun of. (Hey, they got their publicity didn’t they so it’s effective advertising in a sense; just that it does come with some negatives). No one needs a lecture from you on how a diffuser functions.

Seriously dephurf/asselerator/touge spirit or whatever, your defense only makes you look lamer than you already are. Enjoy your time here but quit the BS’ing. LP is diversified enough to have plenty of experts to know and proof that you are simply quoting the internet and talking out of your ass.

He can try to teach me, good luck. Not that I would not learn something, but I am just a horrible person to deal with.

But jokes aside I really like the Senna GTR. Senna road car, not really. They went overboard completely with GTR witch makes it more appealing to me.

1. Have you heard a joke before?

2. Imho GTR is way more pretty than street Senna.

3. I think Fortis had better explanation, yeah I am going with that, sorry.

4. Air really does not care what you think either, fortunately.

But please lets talk CFD!

Which NACA airfoil do you use in your projects and why?

Which whitepapers you prefer?

I really like everything by Joseph Katz, broader take on subject makes it easy to adapt on my own carbonfiber aero pieces.

Then I read: Thesis for the degree of doctor of philosophy in

machine and vehicle systems

Under-body and Diffuser Flows of Passenger Vehicles

by Jesper Marklund, rear bottom aerodynamics were instantly adaptable to my own use but he forgot to put units into almost every graph so that made it somewhat harder to read.

This again was more general stuff: Aerodynamic performances of rounded fastback vehicle

Giacomo Rossitto, Christophe Sicot, Valérie Ferrand, Jacques Borée, Fabien Harambat

But if something it proved that it is science and that's why these all three are comparable in some senses.

I am really a totally novice in this subject but it is intriquing if humbling too.

But at least I know that I don't know much at all.

I have tried my fare share at acoustics but it is as hard as aerodynamics.

I have learned that undestanding basic principles and most basic math when it is spoon fed to me by someone who is really bright and really did the ground work first. But even then it is hard sometimes.

Are you reading what you are linking because it kind of contradicts your argument?

In referencing cars with similar styling attributes, it is necessary to use the term ‘Bosozoku style‘ as few (if any) of the owners were gang members. Occasionally this is abbreviated to Zokusha (‘sha’ meaning ‘car’) and you may also hear them being referred to as ‘Shakotan’ (low height cars) or simply ‘Kaidou Racers’. Either way, Bosozoku style has entered the collective consciousness and is the term most regularly used when specifically talking about the more extreme styled cars.

Just because someone incorrectly associates it with that style due to some similarities, lack of a better description, ease of getting the message across doesn’t make it correct.

I lived there for a number of years, heavily involved in the local car industry and car culture and I know quite a bit about it.

I remember reading about their production goals and they’ve mentioned a lot more “new” models in the next few years.

Looking forward to seeing the Senna in the next few days, I still think that the best looking car McLaren ever produced is the P1 GTR. I don’t care too much about the F1 road car.

I’d do some nasty things for a P1 GTR :icon_mrgreen:

McLaren's official design strategy has to be make an ugly car and then when the public sees it release an uglier car shortly after so the first one doesn't see as ugly any more. So far it's worked with the 570S, sorta worked with the 720S, hasn't worked at all with the Senna, and may the design gods help us with whatever comes after the Senna GTR :gay:
