Advice on buying a Nissan GTR

I have had a PPI complete this week on a 2015 Nissan GTR.

Car history:

Original owner sold last year with 16k miles on it.

Black in color

Currently 25,200 miles

Car has never been launched - owner states plenty fast without launching and bad for transmission. Verified by PPI

Car has done four track days (each day he was on the track an average of 15 minutes three times each day = so say a total of four hours of actual track time.

Clean car fax

Brakes and Alcon rotors are brand new.

Tires R88R like new

Seats like new ($3k each)

My only concern from PPI is the mechanic stated the rear aftermarket piece and the hood, fenders & front bumper do not align well (see images). The wrap has a couple areas that are starting to peel up (by the vents on each side of the front fender).

Car has been set up to dominate at shows and on the track.

Second owner has done these mods in last year (I have all receipts for car maintenance at dealer and parts over $30k):

Car has been tuned at the following levels. Please note that this is a WHP and was done on a "heartbreaker" dyno:

91 - 530 whp & 517 TQ

E85 - 601.5 WHP & 583.6 TQ

2015 Nissan GTR Engine / Performance:

FBO + E85 install and tune

Cobb 3" Carb Legal Intake

GFB BOV Meisterschaft Down Pipe

ID 1000 Injectors

Gotboost 3" Intake,COBB

IPE Valvetronic Exhaust

Wheels / Suspension / Brakes

SPL Titanium Rear Camber Links

SPL Eccentric Lockout Kit

SPL Titanium Rear Toe Links

Whiteline Front and Rear Swaybar

Fortune Auto - 500 Series Coilovers with Air Piston Lift system

Toyo R888R - Less than 500 miles on them

Alcon Rotors + MX72 brakes Pads + Stoptech SS lines

Exterior / Aero:

Window Tinting

Top Racing CF Hood REP

Top Racing Front bumper FRP REP

Kream Development Fenders

Matte Carbon Side emblem

Stillen Front License Plate Holder

Street Image - 3M MATTE DARK GREY - Vinyl Wrap

Performance Tuning - Tow Hook - Red

Aeromotions R2 Active Wing

Rexpeed -OEM Logo / Emblem - Front and Back

4 second racing matte carbon "eyeliner"

N-Tune rear bumper w/ matte carbon under tray

Aerocatch hood latches

Interior:

TCOMP Subwoofer

4 Second Racing - Shift Paddles - Matte Carbon

DCTM Flat Top and Bottom Steering Wheel

DCTM Matte Carbon Steering Wheel Cover

Agency Power

Sparco SPX

Second skin

Schroth Profi 2 Harnesses

My only concern is miles down the road since already at 25k even though I will probably only put 3k a year on it and the body aftermarket items not fitting perfect. I am sure I can get a body shop to work with it though but at what expense. My last concern is the wrap - is it worth having to wrap it again in a year or two?

Thoughts and what do you think would be a fair price on this. I am already in agreement on a price for the car but what to know your thoughts since I trust your judgement (and Allen I know what you are going to say alreay haha). Also, if you have a GTR or a 1969 camaro set up as a pro touring car then I want to know about it ASAP (2 door four seater only - back seats need to fit an 11 year old ;).

Very odd choice of coilovers for a car with so much track stuff dumped into it (presumably the previous owner was more interested in the lift/slamming capability of the air system than in actual track performance), and yeah the fitment on some of the aftermarket body panels leaves much to be desired (not unusual), but if everything else checks out and the price is right it should be fine. BTW launching a '15 isn't really hard on the trans either. The trans and especially the software has changed a good bit from the early cars, and it was really only the '09's that had somewhat of an issue there (mainly morons that thought launching the car 10 times in a row without letting things cool down was a great idea).

Thank you for the replay! Great information to know. I do not plan on launching the car since I never "race" people. The suspension system is pretty unique. He got it this year and purchased it to get over speed bumps without having to worry about the front spoiler. They system when purged works just like a normal coilover so not a true airbag system:

Muuuuuch nicer. Has the rice delete too.

Allan hated his GTR. Said it was the worst car he's ever owned, maybe ask him about his ownership experience before you pull the trigger

Ha yes...trust me Allan has definitely informed me. Today AGAIN, went and drove a new 2017 GTR and ZL1 convertible. I am not a big convertible guy but I honestly feel the ZL1 is so much more fun to drive than the GTR. Also, the GTR driver seat stock just does not fit my lats. Instead of sititng in the seat with lumbar support I lean back on them so no way I could keep the stock seats. The GTR fit and finish in the 2017 is really nice - a major improvement for 2017. BUT, even with the R mode I just do not get that raw feel that I get with the ZL1...and the ZL1 motor sound just puts the GTR to shame. So, now I am totally torn but NOW leaning to a 2017 ZL1 convertible which I did not see that coming LOL. Tomorrow I will tell the 2015 GTR owner that I am passing on his car.

Now for shits and giggles - ZL1 convertible or coupe. This is not going to be a track car so...

Charlie,

Go for the 2017 or pick mine up. The original one you posted is a joke

I appreciate the offer but am going to get a 2017 GTR or more than likely the ZL1 2017. I think I will have alot more fun in the ZL1. The GTR is cool but I just feel I will have more fun in the ZL1.

GTR is the biggest pile of dogshit ever made, regardless how fast you make it. You wanna go fast.. Gallardo TT or Huracan TT... I wouldnt want a new GTR for 1/2 price.

If 10 speed auto, have to go with standard ZL1.

ZL1 1LE is manual only.

correct. If I get a Zl1 convertible I will get the Auto. The only reason why I am not waiting for the ZL1 1LE is because it does NOT have the auto. I prefer the auto in this car.
