Murcie 640 and 670 exhaust the same?

Hope this is not a dupe. Does an aftermarket exhaust that fits the LP 640 fit the LP 670 SV?

If you take a look at the Larini site for both cars, you'll see they are quite different setups. So some combinations of the primaries, secondaries, muffler and tips could be used, but you would probably need to improvise on the mounting.

The Murci and LP640's exhaust parts can be swapped around, but they have the same mounting points which makes it easier.

I had an LOC with secondary delete on my previous LP640. Loved the sound and kept it. Gmendoza was going to put it on my SV but there is some mounting modification that he needs to add. Paging Pancho's Speedshop.

Not the same. Connections at the primary cat are the same and the pipes that go to the tip should work but that's it. The connection between the secondary cat and muffler are different. The way the muffler mounts to the chassis are different. The SV is missing all the exhaust mounting brackets found in the other Murcies. You'd have to make new mounting brackets to fit a 640 exhaust on a SV

I'm getting an IPE full system put in, will try and remember to take pics of mounting locations. I'll have a Larini 670 muffler coming off to sell cheap if someone wants to try and mount it in their 640. I'm curious to what the exact difference is.

  • 1 month later...

I just installed a LP640 exhaust in a LP670.

The exhaust pipes bolt right up. The issue is supporting the exhaust. Like I mention earlier, the LP670 chassis doesn't have the same exhaust mounting points as all other Murcies.

The LP670 exhaust is supported by 4 hangers:

Here are the brackets for the factory hangers.

So I made bolt-in hangers to attach to the stock mounting locations:
