  1. CGT and LFA two best sounding V10's ever imho.
  2. That's two Japanese super cars with abnormally long gestation periods that came out long 5 years too late performancewise. Lexus LFA (at least it had one of the best sounding motors ever) and now the NSX. NSX isn't that great sounding either considering the price. R8 sounds way better imho. It looks nice in white but I still hate the bic shaver grill.
  3. Interesting article. Some of the times run are way off some of the cars best efforts at VIR but a decent read. Not sure I believe the GS POS is as fast as a GT3 RS. On Laguna the GT3 RS was just a 10th or so off the mighty Plastic mess-06 with Z07 package so not sure how the much less powerful GS can tie the GT3 RS on a track like VIR that's longer and suits power more than Laguna Seca. I think race driver mod is needed for the LL now C&D. Not surprised the ACR won but it was way under-driven by 4 secs given the time they published but it still covered the others easily. Very disappointed in the R8 but was pleasantly surprised by the NSX, Alfa 4C and the Caddy's. Wow those Caddy's are bringing it to the German super sedans at least performance-wise.
  4. That Rimac is a beast. Nothing short of a Konigsegg 1:1 or Regera could run that thing down. Wow. When they get the range of these electric cars to rival the gas engine I can see a serious shift take place with car buyers for sports cars. Seriously impressed with that Rimac and it looks good too.
  5. Wow...Its not safe to be a supercar at the stoplight with this beast lol. Car looks good but I must say that I miss the angular shape of the older models.
  6. Why does an M4 weight almost 4300lbs???That is ludacrous. Thats heavier than a Challenger Hellcat. Those times are very impressive however. C5 Plastic mess-06/C7 Stingray fast.
  7. There is that and probably the overly conservative tune Chevy saddled it with that I have been reading quite a bit about this last week. If true on the latter then its like going to a gun fight with a knife. Dont know why you would release the car like that knowing it would get blasted by the competition. Funny enough SRT did the same thing with the Viper. Releasing it knowing it would get toasted by the ZR1. Who knows why these decissions are made.
  8. Was there a test between the two? I noticed that the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times lag behind the Vipers but I am expecting it to be at least 1 sec faster than the TA due to its superior MPSC2's around Laguna, VIR etc. Given equal tires, I think the almost 200lb lighter TA will beat it. Never thought I'd see the day that the car with the 8.4 ltr V10 and steel chassis/brakes would be lighter than the POS with its V8 and aluminium chassis/CCB brakes. I guess you can blame most of that on the SC and supporting hardware not just the beefier chassis. It looks good however and should be the darling of the aftermarket compared to the Viper. I'd like to see the TA on Trofeo's/MPSC's along with the Plastic mess-06 thrown into the mix with the Huyra, P1 et al.
  9. I hope they build it. Car looks the business. I cant find the interior pics I saw but it looks great with a competition flag motif alcantara finish on the doors and alcantara everywhere else.
  10. Love these cars. I was heading up to Connecticut this last Sunday on I-95 and I swear I saw this car heading in the opposite direction. I said to my friend if I was on that side of the highway I would have been temped to follow just to get some pictures of the car with my camera lol.
  11. I remember the original and the 2nd model. I had the posters too. On of my fav cars as teen back in the 80's. I also remember the newer model. They had two of them on display with American Flag motifs back in the 90's at the 45th St Marriott Hotel by Time Square. They were definitely sinister looking machines and still have a mysterious vibe about them, especially the original in black.
  12. Nuh uhhh!!! What GM needs to do is follow SRT's marketing plan to a tee. Bring out the Z07/ZR1 to match the older Gen V Vipers performance instead of surpassing it, then send trashed examples to magazines for testing against its rivals. Sure fire marketing right there folks. Look how well its doing for SRT. Seriously though these new Vettes will dominate. The base model Stingray out slalomed and out braked its higher powered rival easily on much skinnier rubber. That's very telling and speaks volumes about its suspension and brake systems refinement and potency. Add 100-200hp to the Z07/ZR1 respectively and I don't know what is going to run with them. Really hope SRT steps up there game or they may go under quicker than the Gen V's 0-60 times.
  13. You are right. I think both the Viper and the new GTRvette fronts seem to be inspired by Ferrari's. Maybe thats why I see similar characteristics in both designs.
  14. Rear end makes me not take it seriously. What were they thinking? The rear end looks like they were trying to be GTR-ish and the front end looks very 2013 Viper-ish imho. Confusing design. The front and the rear dont look like it would come from the same car.
  15. Agree. At least in the past it kicked butt on the track and the straights so to folks it was okay that the interior were subpar because the performance was over the top. This new Viper according to MT is still terrible riding, uncomfortable despite world class leather, still loud and hot BUT unlike the past Viper gets its butt handed to it. But this time around you get to pay a premium for all that and lose lol. I think it will do better in the future. Something doesn't smell right with this MT test. Btw Ralph from SRT said in their testing against a ZR1 they never saw a gap like 2 secs with the Viper on the Corsa's vs the ZR1 on mpsc's. that says they knew the Viper was a bit slower on those tires but in their testing it wasn't much. That says a lot about the car if its almost as fast as the ZR1 on much more inferior tire. However it make one wonder why they would send a car on its debut, against its biggest rival, with anything less than the equivalent tire. Now they have a Tire-Gate scandal on their hands lol. Who ok'd this test like this knowing the slimey nature of the automotive press at times? Well it's SRT's fault. They set the Viper up to fail by not giving it the equivalent tire. This article has caused many order cancellations. Fiat can't be happy with this.
