  1. Dusting off an old thread rather than start a new one. I'm having the same issue on my 03 Murcie. Window stuck open - can hear a clicking sound - but won't go back up. Is there a way to get the window closed until my mechanic (in a different city) can deal with this properly? Thanks!
  2. My thinking has really changed over the years on this. My current thought is "just don't touch it". Its been my experience that no matter how hard you try NOT to, you will press too hard washing or drying and eventually put swirl marks in the paint. So once a year I have in professionally detailed and have a coating of 22PLE applied at the end. When I wash I use a huge hairy sheepskin mitt and drag it over the car (I really try to put zero pressure on it - hard to do on the sides). Lots of water. Two bucket method. Chemical guys High Gloss shampoo (don't use to much - just end up stripping the wax- follow the directions). Blow dry, never use towels. And for me a must is the CR Spotless. People have different opinions about this system but I love mine. Just have to get new resin once a year. The soap cannons are cool and I have a small fortune in micro fiber towels and never use either anymore.
  3. Funny - I just bought one of the kickboards. Great minds.... Thanks all for the advice.
  4. I wanted something that we could put on him when we were just hanging out in the pool rather than teaching him to swim. We plan to hire a local instructor to come to the house a teach him some basics this summer. But now that I think about it, it sounds like any kind of "aid" would just confuse the situation. Whenever he is in the water either my wife or I am with him. Truth be told, I bet we couldn't keep anything on him. Last year at this time (18 months) he was jumping in from the side, much to my wife's horror, so he's that kind of a kid. So its kind of like Capt said - he's going in the deep end - all I'm trying to do is keep his head above water for a few seconds. I'll probably just go without.
  5. Thats a very good point. Thanks for the observation. Maybe just a small raft thingy when its fun time rather than floaties. Dad will be with him every second he's in the water so maybe just nothing at all.
  6. Its summer in the 'burgh and I'm looking for a swimming vest for my 2.5 year old son. I remember there was some discussion on the topic awhile back embedded in another thread but I cant find it. Search was not my friend. If I remember correctly there was a very popular style that one or two members cautioned against as it would actually keep the child's head IN the water. That would be bad. Any suggestions on the correct vest would be greatly appreciated or if you know where the thread is that would be great too. Thanks.
  7. I have not seen the Blue Nethuns in person, and the pictures (even these great ones) don’t do it justice, but I could swear there is a difference between the Monterey Blue in my 2003 and the later LPs. Somehow a deeper blue in the older cars in my mind. Anyone know how close this is to the original? And yes, I realize this is stupid in the weeds stuff and that I’m opening myself to mocking as if I were Nigel Tufnel saying It's like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. None more black. But the color is awesome on the Aventedor so just wondering.
  8. That's nothing. Brought to you by people who think they can control the weather.
  9. For me, its all about a "diet" that I can live with for the rest of my life. Otherwise you are doomed to fail. That said: Sugar=Poison. I try never to eat it - and thats much harder than it sounds as sugar is usually in the top three ingredients in most processed foods. I just eliminated those foods. Now, thats typically carbohydrates, which I guess means I'm on a low/no carb diet but that was not my intent. I eat plenty of meats, veggies, fruits, so I get plenty of carbs, just not simple carbs from refined sugar. If I want candy, I have a little, but I know I'm having sugar as a treat. Its not sneaking into my diet through wheat bread. I also work out (45-60 min) 4-5 days a week. When I started this diet I dropped 30lbs (~20%) in six months and have kept it off for 18 months. I think I can eat/live like this the rest of my life and feel no sacrifices at all.
  10. Certainly impressive - but I can see Monty Python mocking the crap out of this...
  11. Well, then, perhaps a proper transmission :eusa_dance: I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Can't wait to see it!
  12. Same exact thing for me - but the last two winters I've put stabilizer in the fuel. Thoughts on this - Good/Bad/No difference?
  13. A buddy of mine owns one and he flips cars all the time. Its his first and he is not used to, and does not like, all the attention it generates so my guess is he will get rid of it sooner rather than later. And my guess is he will put less than 2,000 miles on it. He loves it but really has no comps (he's a big fan of P-cars). I've seen it once - pretty sweet if you ask me and if it were mine I'd keep it!
