  1. Hi ken. My car would start then play up after 15 minutes or so and then run properly after cool down. That's why I did my head in for weeks thinking it was fuel. Ended up being the distributor cap.
  2. Hi peter, For what it's worth I had exactly the same symptoms. Drove me nuts. Changed ignition system..etc.etc. Was fearing the worst. Turned out to be an ozone build up in the distributor cap. Pulled it off. Got a dremel tool and buffed out all the brown ozone build up. Not missed a beat since.
  3. Great place Melbourne Australia. 90 minutes to great surf beaches 3 hours to good snow fields 6 hours to great snow fields And some of the worlds best restaurants are in our city. Apparently Melbourne has more restaurants and cafe's per square mile than any other city. Hence they must be good in order to survive. Also we are a great cultural centre with almost every race and religion mixed harmoneously in this great town. You Yankees should come down and pay us a visit. And by the way our economy is still booming.
  4. Wife and kids bugging me to buy a snow cabin. But as you already know...things are sooooo much more expensive here in Australia. Including Countach's...pity you buggers drive on the wrong side of the road!
  5. Hi Mike, thanks for the quick response. Stephen did PM me and i was sitting at my beach house. It's summer down under in Australia! Yippeeee Sun Surf Jetski's.....Off taking my 10 Year old down for a surfing lesson now. Cya Dean
  6. Well Guys, Truth be told. I sold some of these (Australian Made Ones) to Debriga, and he bagged them even before fitting them. He returned them to me in Australia and I gladly refunded the money, less shipping costs. So that sort of put me off selling anymore overseas. As an enthusiast, I though that if I had to make a set for me, I might as well make 10 sets and share with any others in need. It sort of makes the per unit cost come down. Johnighini bought a set, and one other in the USA. I had another promise to order but never heard back. I thought Debriga had told others that my products were not good quality. I am glad that john has installed his and is happy. Mine are also great after so many years. But with the few I have left and the strong Aussie dollar, quite frankly it is not worth selling the few sets I have left. I know that some fellow Countach owners have requested some for their cars and are just waiting to take their cars off the road to replace the joints. The guys at the CNC shop that made these for me are actually part of a popular Australian Supercar Racing Team. That's why I know they are good quality. They are the same quality that they make for their supercars that get punished on the tracks here at 250-300kph for 4-5 hour races. Google "Bathurst V8 Supercars"for more details on the racing series. It is a punishing track around our Mt Panorama. http://www.v8supercars.com.au/ I sort of lost face with these guys when they did not sell as I had promised, and hence I would feel a little embarrased asking them to make anymore for me. Mike.. I can spare one set for you as promised. Regards Dean
  7. Hi Guys, regarding the Heim Joints for the Countach rear end. I have had these remanufactured on our CNC machine for my Countach and I can now supply a non genuine replacement kit from Australia. Part Numbers 005209538 Upper Joint (4 Supplied in this Kit) 005209535 Lower Joint (6 Supplied in this Kit) Total 10 joints Supplied ..Enough to replace the whole rear end! I can offer these at around US$1000 for the kit if any one is interested. I think the genuine replacements if available are around $2500. We are also getting ready to produce the tube assemblies for these suspension arms. In Addition we are also scanning the Hub and Flange assembly on our CNC machine and will have prototypes available soon which i will test in my Countach. Please note the pic above is of the original prototypes. Actual production units are black with a black bush. Anyone interested email me [email protected] I can take payment via paypal.
  8. Just a quick Addition:- The Fuel Pump Timer relay detects a pulse from the Ignition coil to keep the fuel pumps running. Each pulse on the Ignition Coil triggers the fuel pump timer relay to run for 0.6 seconds. Therefore when the Ignition is ON and the engine is NOT running, the Fuel Pump Timer relay will NOT activate the fuel pumps. When the engine is running, the coil continuously pulses a signal to the fuel pump timer relay, hence keeping it ON and keeping the fuel pumps running. The pulse has to be at least +50V (So you will not be able to trigger the fuel pump timer relay (pin 31b from the +12V car battery).
  9. Hi Guys, Thanks for your help. Finally beginning to understand how this electrical system works. Something my 7 year old son would design! BTW i am an electronics engineer with 25 years experience designing security devices for car manufacturers. Anyhow here are my findings. Finally got it to work Maybe it can help someone else in the future. My car is a USA Spec QV5000 Fuel Injected. Click here to view the file
  10. Hi Guys, I am in Australia and recently purchased a QV5000 FI from Texas. Suddenly the fuel pumps are not working. I need some help to diagnose the problem. This car has had all emissions removed, Air Pump, Cannisters, Cats. Also the Bosch Injection system ECU plugs are in the rear RHS trunk, but no ECU's. How the hell does the injection system work? There is an MSD Box installed. Can anyone advise me how these boxes should be wired specifically for a QV5000FI? I think the wiring has been done incorrectly and there are some wires simply twisted together resulting in bad connections. The fuel pumps momentarily came to life when i jiggled some wiring near the coil. I have gone through all the wiring and checked for poor connections, bad earths etc. Next is to check the fuel pumps. Where are the pumps? How do i get to the pumps? I do not have a lift at home to raise the car. Below is a picture with some specific information. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. BTW the my fuse box also had the same black broken wire as the previous post. Any ideas where it goes? I simply connected it to another black earth wire in the fuse box. It will possibly serve no purpose connecting it to the chassis of the rear fuse box, because this fuse box is isolated from the vehicle's ground as it is mounted to a fibreglass panel. pics posted on my website Regards Dean
