Sounds like all good news to me from your perspective! Completely crazy though. I wonder how much a six speed conversion would cost? If these buyers are just looking for the driving experience and the "last analog" thing then I would think you could get that for far less with a conversion.

Almost bought one last year for 175... Heard mixed reviews...600k is nuts but I guess everything is worth what someone is willing to pay..by that logic a lp640 manual should be 600k...599 isn't more car then a 640 IMHO

Prolly has to do with the very low miles and thats its 6 speed, the car being black etc... Collectors want something extremely rare and this is it.

Ferrari rises before Lambo and Falls after. I believe it will happen for Lambo but will take time. Manual 640 right now is 6 months above its low point. I feel it will creep up slowly until one day it goes nuts.

Sold at auction today for i think 682 with fees. Now I'm officially scared to drive mine. :( I guess it is good news and bad news...

Great news for u John.

Like you know, I love a 599 manual. Bought a Porsche first, if they are still normal prices when I can afford another addition, I'll likely get a manual 599.

That price is utter madness though! Stinks of a bubble, speculation...

That's ridiculous, we had here a black on black, manual, which sat on the market as the cheapest 599 in the country for almost 2 years, $600k in US for that car would make sense if it came with $450k cash in the trunk.

Has to be a typo or someone was a complete idiot...regardless of the six speed status, there are well over a dozen on the market, both newer and just as clean for under 175k. I understand auction hype, but that's just plain stupid and throwing money away, and not like 30k in the trash, more like 400k. Ridiculous.

Where are other ones for sale?

There are 2 pages of 599's for sale in DuPont, in addition to GTO's and a 599 race car...all would be better investments than tossing 600k at a six speed 07. They aren't THAT rare.

Supposedly, there are only 53 in the world.

Actually about 20 in this country. How do you explain the 1999 355 Spider 6spd that just sold for 200k?

The 599s you're seeing kaoss are all F1...

At the end of the day everything is worth what someone is willing to pay.... If the guy was willing to pay that for a 599... that's a 700K 599.... will there be others willing to pay that?? Who knows

Don't forget, there was at least one other guy who was willing to pay one bid less than $600k+ for that car. Crazy.

Granted he may not do that again. Often the competition of bidding gets out os hand then after the second highest bidder sighs in relief that he didn't spend ~600k on that car.

I heard there were 4 people bidding. One clocked out at 300, one at 500, and then the 2 battled till till 620k. With fees 682... I nearly messed up my pants when I saw trhe number. :) lol

$600K is madness, but then again, an Enzo just sold for over $3M (yikes). That's all it takes to set the market off. 575 manuals will likely start climbing faster and soon enough, so will the more common F-550.

Makes me wonder is it possible to convert a paddleshift car to a manual?

Can't be any harder than doing it to a Murcielago.
