It is legit, despite the source the article is from lol.gif The NHTSA posted it today, a battery issue isn’t really a big deal (financially for the company). And it only affects 16 cars...total.

agreed. the impact is minimal, and i don't think Pagani level customers are going to be overly worried about a battery issue.

True! However to achieve homologation in the US they had to destroy 5 or 6 cars. Which hurts a lot more than this recall, that’s for sure!

I mean, to be 100% honest, how many people out of the 16 are actually driving them. rolleyes.gif I'm willing to bet it isn't half.

I doubt there will be that many people upset. I'm sure Pagani will handle this with the utmost dedication to fixing the issue and ensuring that their clients get the best possible customer service while fixing the problem.

Let's not forget the Aventadors catching on fire issue that helped to continously perpetuate the Italian car jokes.

That said I seen some pictures of people on this website and they do not look like they have evolved properly.

SOB! If the manufacturer is going to issue a recall on my car you'd think they would have called me personally. rant.gif

I heard koeniggsegg didn't actually destroy 6. They just kept rebuilding the same one over and over again for the crash tests and homogolation.

16 cars is probably half of the total cars built for a year lol

As others have said, a battery issue doesn't seem like it will be a big issue to fix. If I had one I'd already be figuring out how I would drop
an AC Delco in there somewhere to make sure the car would start.

I did find the last line of the article to be a little ironic though in light of the battery issue:

"Recently, the manufacturer teased an electric supercar set to debut in 2025."

Aren't a bunch of owners currently (or very recently) on a drive together in Australia and the region?

I would assume they would be notified in a more personal way.

Makes me wonder why it is so common.

All these super and hypercars seem to have horrible problems with parasitic current draw. To my understanding you left any of these supercars untouched for 2 weeks and half of them wont even start, 4 weeks and most of them wont even open doors or something else very stupid. I know that Pagani is horrendous, it can go flat in 2-3 days without trickle charger, Ferraris will follow soon. Maybe Lambo is the best in this, I have not heard problems with Lambos so often.

Imho if it is called supercar, it should be also superior technically. And they should have from weight reduction standpoint alone a lithium batteries. Lithium battery is very superior to any lead chemistry, especially voltage drop and self discharge is 10% of the lead acid one. So it is only about managing parasitic losses. I know for fact that Pagani's have most over priced lithium batteries in their every car. Totally removing 90% of inimizing parasicit losses and greatly reducing the remaining ones would be relatively simple thing to do.
Engineer vital stuff to the tee and relay rest of the 90% off anytime car key is not in proximity or car has not been operated in 5minutes or more.
It is simply case of how manufacturers dont even care about that.

But no manufacturer could get away with similar faults in cheap shitbox cars, they need to be reliable.
Weird to see how bad electric design is more norm than exception in super/hypercars.

I was told that there are a lot of things which need to be powered up and cycled even when the car is parked hence the batterie drainage.

For sure, it is obvious that they have, but does it really need to be that way. smile.gif
You need power to some brainbox that takes signal from car key (or possibly mobile app), and that can wake rest of the stuff up only when needed.
And you also most likely need to keep some memory awake 247 that remembers all the car's settings.
And then you need to have voltage monitoring BMS system if lithium powered.

Either of those should be able to design very low current, basically same current draw that normal mobile phone or laptop consumes at idle.
If car battery goes from full to flat in a couple of days it means that draw is easily hundred-thousand times bigger.

I cant come up what else would be needed to be powered or cycled when car is parked.
Subject is interesting and if you have more info on it I would like to read and learn. smile.gif
