Aventador/Veneno Recall

It is no secret that LPDaddy and Fortis have an issue with him after they meet at the Giro. What happened there I cannot comment on because I was not there and I respect the opinion of all three people involved.

Not this again LOL.

I have absolutely nothing against the guy, I dont hate him, nor dislike him, I had no arguments with him on or offline, online he was very polite with me, we exchanged pleasantries, we communicated via PM, he was very helpful etc. I believe I was the same so as far as I am concerned no issues there.

On LP we were both diehard Lambo fanboys :icon_mrgreen: and I missed his support after he left LOL

I did hear rumours about few not so nice things he might've said about me but that's hearsay and maybe not true so I will not hold it against him and even if he said anything about me I wouldn't really care, everyone has an opinion and he would be well within his rights to express his.

IRL he was completely different from his online persona and that's understandable, perhaps most of us are that way.

I am kind of tired of hearing about my "beef" with him and perhaps one of these days I will just come out and say what made me think that he was a MASSIVE weirdo when I first met him LOL

and if and when I will say it I am sure that 99.99% of you will agree with my views.

Is there a statue of limitation for keeping something bottled up? 5 years, 7 years? perhaps 10? :lol2:

So far i have lasted nearly 7 years of Aventadors not catching fire, clearly a few out of the many thousand did and hence the recall, i used a pretty simple rule of if the car had been sitting building up fumes don't rev the nuts off it.

I still rev my car just don't sit repeatedly on the limiter for prolonged periods with out moving.

I always have a fire extinguisher in a Supercar as all the brands do on occasion seem to have more regular occurrences of bursting into flames than normal cars. When the first ones started catching fire i added a second fire extinguisher, just to spray the haters with if it caught fire ;)

Can't see this is big news, but it is good news that the problem can be eliminated

Chaos I am truly sorry to hear about your dad! I am not sure what the situation is there but I wish you guys the best of luck!

Thank you for the well wishes. Bowel cancer is the bastard problem.

Kind of puts great perspective on a lot of things when people have this in their lives and people want to go on about a recall on a car they don't see.

Not that I am saying you are though Fortis!

That is because the local news in Pittsburgh normally talks about incest and what a dump it is.

I don't get the hullabaloo about the Veneno recall.

The Aventador has issues due to a pump location near the exhaust and twatsticks do stupid things when the car is not moving...

But the Veneno is not just a rebodied Aventador.

I chat with Kris on a regular basis, I am due to meet up with him next month in London, he has been incredibly supportive and helpful towards me over a period of time. He checks in on me and asks about my Dad's chemo etc.

He is engaging to talk to and has opinions, is he a decent guy.

The way I see it, someone who owns a rare car, a car which means he has close ties to the factory would know more about the situation than anyone posting in here? Do you not think in the regular conversations/texts/emails with the factory this might come up?

People are going on like if Kris does not get this done they are all going to lose an inch off their own cocks.

Let it be, it does not matter.

Condolences to you and your family.

Kris was saying that the Veneno wasn't actually part of the recall, it's misinformation.

First for all , I am very sorry about your dad's health problems , it is tough times for everyone in the family and I hope he pulls through .

I wish you had not brought up the incident between Kris and I at the giro , that happened 5 years ago and the only ones who know the real story are the ones that were present , Fortis being one of them.

Kris is a moron in my books, I haven't changed my opinion of him . He is a pompous ass caught up in his own self importance and likes to play the humility game , and the truth is , he is far from humble and an narcissistic egocentric megalomaniac .

His latest action , bullshit about a recall that is really not a big deal proves my point again . The mighty Kris cannot be wrong and there is no way his veneno is part of a recall , likes who gives a shit if it is or not.

For years Lambo factory denied any problem even though I and other owners raised it numerous times with the factory. If you look at all the videos of fires they all start in the same spot at the back. That is the problem.

Finally, at least they admit it.

But it's the location of the vapour pump causing the fires according to Lambo mechanics - which is logical and you don't need to be Einstein to see that -not so much what they are suggesting in the recall, I have been told, but I really hope it will really stop the fire hazard for everyone's sake.

They should redesign the damn thing and locate it elsewhere away from the exhaust so it does not catch fire from exhaust fumes travelling up to light up the fire. Will Lambo ever do it? Unlikely, it is too costly to redo so they resort to this band aid 'fix'. Meanwhile, let's hope there is no more fires.

The funny thing is they really thought, by making the rusty and (unsafely) sharply cut SV exhaust pipes face down -not straight pipes as with other Aventadors - , it would stop fires - as if hot exhaust fumes will defy physics and not go up the back causing fires lol
