Warranty extension. Worth it?

The warranty on my 15 Roadster is just about to expire, and I am debating on extending 1 or 2 years. As many of you know, its about $7500 and $15000...and I am conflicted now due to the coverage. It appears the warranty is more of a powertrain only warranty. Does anybody know exactly what is, and what is not covered? Worth it?

Thanks!

My understanding is that it is Full Factory warranty same as what is covered on the standard 3 year warranty. An authorized Lamborghini Dealer can approve this extension subject to an inspection, however if the Dealer has been servicing your car the inspection is not required.

For me, if I was going to keep the car I would definitely pay for the extended warranty, that $7K will pay for itself pretty fast for any big ticket items, plus it's peace of mind which is a benefit in and of itself.

I will check with the service manager tomorrow. The car was bought and has been serviced at the same dealer...yet they apparently still have to inspect- and they want another ~$900 for that! If it is factory coverage, then its a no brainer!

sad times when extended warranty is considered on a 3 year old car. And worse if only a few ks are on the clock over that period.

Thankfully it has been a solid car, but its good to weigh the options of peace of mind!

Buying the warranty should also raise the value of the car a bit, or at least get it sold quicker if you decide to sell.

Yes definitely, think of it would you rather put out the big $$ for car with warranty or a car without it, I know what my answer would be...

My SV has warranty on it until March 2019 (give or take), the im 50/50 on the extension. I was quoted $6000 for 12 months. I think I’m gonna see how it plays out over the next 18 months(how far I drive it, what problems I have until the current warranty expires).

Anyone else’s thoughts I’d love to hear, I appreciate the comments so far.

Thx

I sold my 1700 mike 14 back in July while still under warranty. He called me a couple of weeks later asking if the dash gauge cluster ever blacked out on me as it had started to do it to him. I advised to get the car in ASAP so the problem was documented. Fortunately he did, after 5 weeks they could not diagnose the problem so they just replaced it, under warranty. Out of warranty it would have cost him $9800.00!

I just found this out last night so I thought id share.

Great example, thank you

I think while these cars are generally quite reliable, for most of us they are not DD so they don't get driven daily. My experience with auto's is they need to be driven. So I guess what Im saying is when the car sit's idle over the winter, gremlins seem to pro-create. It's nice to have that piece of mind so that if a big ticket item like a dash gauge cluster goes u/s warranty picks up the tab.

Btw, Im in the Pacific NW so I keep insurance on all year and try to get out for a run as much as weather permits...
