bigbrian Report post Posted September 13, 2017 Beware of DIME Racing! They ruined several twin turbo builds including the build they completed on my 2015 Lamborghini Huracan! They are financially unstable; they defaulted on payments for their shop car (Lamborghini Huracan) and defaulted on rent payments for their shop located in Huntington Beach, California. RedGTS Report post Posted September 13, 2017 Can't wrap my head around why someone would send an expensive car to a shop without an extensive track record of modifying similar cars. Crazy.
Kevin2772 Report post Posted September 13, 2017 Can't wrap my head around why someone would send an expensive car to a shop without an extensive track record of modifying similar cars. Crazy. Couldn't agree more. I mean, are they THAT much cheaper then the established tuners? It just seems that modifying cars is something that requires EXTENSIVE experience to do it right, then you have these shops that pop up, you know they cant have that knowledge. Just makes no sense to me unless its a money thing.

Think about the level of incompetence required to totally screw over a customer whom you know is a significant tuber and is planning to extensively publicize his experience with you. That's like a promising young singer showing up blind drunk to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

That's like a promising young singer showing up blind drunk to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Definitely. This isn't some "normal" customer who you can play games with... in a WORLD where "person to person" reviews are SO VALUABLE... why would you upset a pretty established YOUTUBE vlogger (regardless of your opinion on his channel). IanMan Report post Posted September 14, 2017 he was probably offered a free system for airtime on YouTube.... even so, bad idea all around... I believe Parker said in his video he was paying around $20K. After he had issues and contacted the company, he was refunded and offered the kit for free but he decline. How could anyone send their car there? I think for me a sportscar is so precious, cant think how much more brand new supercar is. On this age of internet it is just super easy find out. Better to google than be sorry. That parker's story was enough imho to mark company as full scam. edit. about the new video... especially thinking how much easier should small turbos get things done than supercharger. Obviously there is not enough water cooling, oil cooling, no corrected air flow, no ceramic coating to headers or turbos etc... If UG can put around 3000hp from that same engine bay without heat problems then making 700-800hp shoud be childs play for engineering company that cares. BLK85 Report post Posted September 14, 2017 Why do people go to places other than UGR or Heffner? Trying to save a couple grand just screws you over in the long run. Sucks people are getting screwed over. You would think these companies that work in such a small market they would be reputable. whiteout Report post Posted September 14, 2017 I’ve heard the headers require an engine out. The gearbox issue seems like there may have been a grounding issue when reinstalling the trans/engine since it looks like the computer is telling the trans to do an action and the trans is not doing the requested action (i.e. not getting power to physically do something.) Can't wrap my head around why someone would send an expensive car to a shop without an extensive track record of modifying similar cars. Crazy. Dime has a GT3 racing program (was AMG SLS now Huracan) and competing at that level isn't done by cutting corners; their shop, which is super clean, is filled with AMG cars and a handful of Lambo/R8; and they are one of the only companies with headers for the Huracan/R8. I've seen their fabrication in person and it looks nice. If they had their shit together for the builds, this place would look good on paper. I wouldn't shy away from their headers since there are not many options out there, but I wouldn't expect them in a timely fashion. Before all of this, I would have considered them as a TT option because their systems looked like quality builds, the shop looked legit, the guys working there seemed to be very knowledgeable. But after seeing the VF car run from the Dime. . . among some of the other issues which came to light. Pass. As far as other small builders that are not a household name like UR/Hef/Dallas I would strongly consider CFI for a TT system because their builds look very detailed and high quality. Kerplop Report post Posted September 14, 2017 And... the story gets worse. The people running DIME Racing have some messed up ethics and morals at this point. I saw that video the other day and it made me cringe so hard. The fact that he had paid so much and they didn't communicate and he had to be on them CONSTANTLY to get any response is terrible. The customer experience for supercars is something dreams are made of. You want to take your dream, hand it to a shop and have it come back more amazing than before, while getting the best experience of your life. If you can't do that, you shouldn't be working on them. *edit* sorry it was this video i saw. He basically CONSTANTLY texted, called, hardly got any contact, strung along and when he showed up they only had the bumper and exhaust off the car. Kisco Report post Posted September 14, 2017 Why do people go to places other than UGR or Heffner? Because there are other shops out there that do exceptionally good work with excellent craftsmanship, and Dime Racing isn't one of them. I know the owner of Vehicle Virgins and he contacted me before going to Dime Racing to get my thoughts, and I advised him against it. I have seen some of their work and IMO, it's not pretty, at all. He went there anyway because of the price they offered him but as luck would have it, he ended up elsewhere and avoided being a victim. On a side note, I am hearing he is going around telling people his car will whoop a bolt on TT Huracan after his experience against the Dime car so I am looking to put an end to that real quick. whiteout Report post Posted September 15, 2017 Read through the lawsuits in the first post (not sure how I missed that one.) I take back the "I wouldn't shy away from their headers since there are not many options out there, but I wouldn't expect them in a timely fashion." I wouldn't give thousands to a shop that might not be there by the end of the month.
