Anyone here own the Panamera GTS?

I was pulling up to the valet at a restaurant tonight and a lady there had a brand new(ish) Panamera GTS. I wouldn't be buying one any time soon, but the thing sounded violent when it started up. I'm guessing it doesn't come in a manual and I was surprised to find out that it was naturally aspirated. (I stopped following the Porsche line-ups after the 997's), but it sounded great! I'm just wondering if it drives as well as it sounds and if any of you that own one actually enjoy it. Even more astonishing was that the wife loved it when she saw it and my wife isn't into cars at all. She loved the sound even though she only likes "quiet" cars. Sadly it has 65 less horsepower than my current car, but the 0-60 time is pretty good. For a boat, it seems pretty nice! ;) I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about the car!

Just got a '15 GTS four days ago. Hubby loves it (it was his pick). I am enjoying it. Stiffer ride than our CL550-4 and not nearly as pretty - but with four comfy seats and hatch back it holds tons of gear and seats 4 comfortably.

Sounds amazing!! Love the V8 nat asp engine. Ours has extended range fuel tank of 26 gallons

and got 26 mpg until we started messin with the revs for break in. Has plenty of acceleration when needed. Not as much as the twin turbo CL but fine for getting through traffic.

Immediately after delivery we left for a trip. It was quite comfortable over our 1.5 day road trip.

I drove the previous gen GTS on track at Barber in Birmingham a couple years ago. It was part of PSDS. It was the biggest surprise of my 2 days on track. It felt like a much smaller car. I was really impressed.

It doesn't have the "of the minute" safety technology of MB - like lane departure or the feature that brakes the car if you get too close to traffic ahead. This is good or bad depending on how you feel about nannies.

Overall - so far -2 thumbs up. We get back into it on Tues for the return trip.

Thanks Bryan. We'll have 1600 on the ODO in the next hour. Returning from Bald Head Island NC. Perfect trip to break it in.

I got home from Watkins Glen. Parked the Cayman (still covered in track juice) and we picked up GTS and headed south.

Great road trip car. Very linear throttle response (unlike turbo CL550 where you have to anticipate what it'll do). Missed having the distronic in the fog up through WV and hubby misses seat massage but otherwise no complaints.

Carbon gray over black with aluminum interior trim.

Hubby (at first) didn't want aluminum and figured he'd trade it for CF or wood trim - but after seeing some cars with the CF trim (or dark wood - doesn't matter) - decided it would make the interior too dark. The aluminum provides nice contrast and makes the interior a bit brighter.

Personally I like the aluminum trim. Very modern and clean look.

I am not a fan of the Panamera but that looks so good. Are the wheels stock Porsche wheels ? How is leg room at the back ? I have been contemplating an S550 for a DD and this makes me rethink my choice.

Bone stock.

Wheels look good but are a PAIN to wash.

Leg room in the back is acceptable. We rarely use the back seat but the few occasions we've had people back there it's fine.

I did a wardrobe change in the back seat and had plenty of room :icon_thumleft:

Hubby considered an S550 but the Porsche drives much more like a sports car - much "tighter", yet the ride is compliant and civil enough that he is happy (and he has a very bad back and is much more sensitive to ride than me). We don't see nearly as many Panameras around here (compared to Mercedes) and I like that it's a bit different.

With the re-design in 2015 and the removal of the hump from the rear glass the lines are much more pleasing.

Personal opinion: dark colors suit the car best when the trim is blacked out. The chrome window trim highlights some of the inelegant lines but when it's all dark it looks better. Looks great in black but didn't want a black car. The carbon gray is very dark but still easier to live with than black. Has quite a bit of metal flake which helps hide a little bit of dirt. Windows are tinted after market (not sure to what degree) which also helps with the cohesive look.

It sounds INCREDIBLE! Love the exhaust note.

We have a Panamera 4 and love it. When the redesign happens (next year I hear) we will upgrade to a turbo, I kick myself now that I cheaped out and just got a 4 with this one. We have a 5 and 3 year old and they fit in the back no problem ;).

My wife has also been using it for track days. It does surprisingly well on the track. I think she is starting to outgrow it for a track car so we will probably get her a cayman for track duty next spring but the panamera is staying as we have really fell in love with it.

Here she is at the new Palmer track they opened about 1 hour away from us. So happy about that.

Bumping an old thread. Thinking about picking ones of these up as a DD, any known issues I should be looking? Is the GTS that much better than an S?

What was the 2015 redesign? I can't tell they look so similar.

Its all new NOW and much better. It is small inside IMO unless you get an executive.

The new car improves on an already very good car and the rear looks better. The new Turbo S is a TT V8 with electric motor to make almost 700hp!

Driven many of the previous generation Turbo and Turbo S cars. What a rocket ship. It cornered so flat it was amazing. Honestly, what a car. The new version of the car is supposed to be as close to perfect as that car is going to get, though I have yet to drive one.

Damn it guys now you have me cross shopping these with an RS7.

The drive had an article/YouTube video putting the two of them head to head. As an s8 owner and a huge Audi fanboy...I'd still get the P car!
