First ride in a Countach tonight. What a blast!

So i have been hanging around with a good friend of mine for close to 10 years. He has a Countach and if you can believe it in all the years we have been hanging out I have never even sat in his car. Tonight we all met for our weekly cars and coffee and finally I opened the door to his car and yelled at him. Lets go. Lol. He jumped up and we went for a tour. The Countach was my dream car growing up. I had the poster. I was in love with the car. I was sitting at coffee thinking. Wow. I could get hit by a bus tomorrow and have never expierienced a Countach when one has been under my nose for years. The ride was an absolute blast and I promise I wont wait another 10 years before I go again. I offered to trade him my G for the night but strangely enough he declined. Hahaha. Thanks again Darren. That was a BLAST. !!!!

That is AWESOME! I wish I had made it to cars and coffee!

I was the exact same - I had this massive poster of the Countach on my wall when I was a kid. I still have it. I pronounced it "Lamborgnee", LOL.

Good for you, Sean. Glad for you. :icon_thumleft:

It was my pleasure.

Having owned the car for over a decade, I sometimes get a little complacent about it.

Then a fellow enthusiast comes along for a ride and it's like the very first time I took the car out all over again.

So thank you.

(...and I trust you'll burn the picture of me sitting in that 430 spyder )

That's awesome! I love reading posts like this. I've said this a hundred times, but I can't wait to own a Countach. I've owned faster cars, but there's nothing that can compare to the Countach. It is pure automotive perfection. Whichever one I get to own, I'll never give it up!

Maybe the power, handling and braking aren't up to par, but the shift gate, the heavy steering and clutch......all worth it. :icon_mrgreen:

fcuk your face Daddyo! Never call my creampuff a shitbox.

I equate the Countach with my Carrera GT. When the CGT came out, everyone complained how hard it was to drive, the clutch etc... All bullshit. I like driving my Countach just as much, if not moreso than the CGT. Ofcourse the CGT is better in every performance aspect, but where it falls short is in the sense of occasion when you drive it, passion and feel. Countach is the best. Just dont drive in traffic in one.

Facts: that car is a nightmare. A lot of understeer, scaring, intimidating, very hard clutch, too hot, heavy gearbox shifter, no windows, brute power (at least 5000S and QV carbs cars), no side and rear visibility, almost no brakes. The car is not a friend, it's an enemy that always wants to kill you. But on the other hand I have to say that driving a Countach was by far the most emotional drive of my life and one of my best moment ever.

So: it's a great experience to drive one, a strong emotion that everyone shoud have!

Here below the uforgettable first time that I drove the car on a public road.

I had an LP400 for 11 years, by far the worst car i have ever owned. It did nothing right, fuses arced, air conditioning was useless, was super slow, brakes were awful, etc

It did look spectacular and sounded amazing, and that's about it.

Granted, the later cars are better, but they still drive like shit, not a driver's car by any means.

And WTF does ALLAN know, goes putt putting on Mulholand or accelerates through tunnels lol.

The Countach is a pussycat of a car to drive.

The clutch is easy to work if you have anything larger than pencils for legs.

The steering takes a little bit of effort when stopped or at low speeds but is light at speeds that matter.

The car has more than adequate power to put a smile on your face whenever you put your foot into it.

The blind spots are really not that big a deal. If you actually pay attention to the road, the traffic, and the idiots who inevitably follow you in your right hand blind spot and you'll be fine.

The Countach was designed BY real men FOR real men. There are a number of cars out there that may be better suited for those that aren't.....
