For those that like the history of Gandini's work on the Miura, Countach, and other early exotics like the Stratos, I think you'll enjoy this one:

What a find :turboalex:

I loved the video and Cironi is fantastic, I will have to subscribe to his channel!

How awesome would it be to get Gandini to pen you a car and get Lamborghini to build it, that would be the ultimate!

This guy is a real breath of fresh air in the world of car vlogs. I love his Alpine A110 video.

Cool video, thanks for posting.

I had the fortune of meeting the maestro 5 years ago during the Grande Giro. It was by pure fluke. This was on the final day of the event. Gandini was invited to the factory party the night prior. The following morning the hotel guests were having breakfast at its coffee shop. 2 people walked in and sat next to me. I looked sideway and it was Gandini and his assistance! He spoke mainly Italian so we conversed through his assistance. He wasn't too interested at first until I showed him pics of my Countach and Diablo, then he nodded and wore a broad smile. We talked about the Miura, the Lancia Stratos; and the more down-to-earth BMW E12 and the Fiat X1/9 which he seemed to enjoy talking about the latter 2 more (likely because the Miura and Stratos had been discussed to death already).

One can easily tell that Gandini is a quiet and very private man, a lone wolf that doesn't like the limelight; but a pure genius that would hide behind his desk and then reappear with an out-of-this-world design. He and Giugiaro couldn't be further apart which explains their feud. I worry about Gandini's health though as he seems to be a heavy smoker.

Nice story VCR.

I agree that I would rather talk to him about his lesser known projects too. It was interesting to see that his BMW project was modified from his vision a bit (I guess like the Diablo). The 308 GT/4 was a project that was tweaked with the direct input of Enzo Ferrari himself in person with a mockup model, not sketches. Those Maserati projects would be interesting to hear about too. Bugatti EB110 (!)....amazing.

Never knew that he and Giugiaro feuded.

Also found out that those two and Fioravanti (who designed every notable F from the Dino to the 288 GTO) were all born in 1938. Sad that the rock stars of design will not be with us much longer.

Both Cironi and Gandini expressed the sentiment that I've put out there that it would be nice to see front engine coupes and 2+2s from Lamborghini, not just mid engine super cars. Hopefully the Urus greenlights a revival of those types of cars.

The 350, 400, Islero were awesome GTs, overlooked unfairly because of the Miura.

I would settle for a car produced by Bertone, designed by Gandini with engine from Lamborghini.

Just like calling up Lamborghini to request one offs, I'd imagine you could get the stylists to design a car for a fee?

Yeah, Cironi is a breath of fresh air indeed. His knowledge, passion, production value, selection of cars reviewed, and driving ability are top notch. Being that he is Italian and has access to the golden age who's who of exotic designers/engineers is something we'll never get from American/British vloggers.

I think him interviewing Balboni would be different from interviews we have seen before.
