looks great! I wonder if the spyder version will get close to the same lap times
They never do... More weight and different aero will make a difference.

Damn already?

FWIW the first spy shots appeared in early January, before the Performante coupe was officially released

Performante Spyder spy shots

I really hope Lambo isn't becoming the next Mclaren with new variants every 6 months.

You mean like the Gallardo? =)

I read recently somewhere that every year there will be a 'special' edition like the Huracan Avio or Aventador Miura (i.e. mostly colour treatments).

But as far as the Huracan goes, I think this will be it.

- RWD Coupe

- RWD Spyder

- AWD Coupe

- AWD Spyder

- Track oriented coupe

- Track oriented spyder

Limited editions:

- Annual Avio type edition (like the Gallardo before it, bicolore, tricolore, etc, etc)

- Limited edition STS/SC type car at the end of the pre-facelift, and one more at the end of the Huracan run

So the question is.....do you prefer the coupe or the spyder?

Since track oriented, I still prefer coupe

Which is ironic from a 16m owner.

:

Funny I took my 16M on track once, head to head with my Exige S260...much preferred the Lotus. The 16M had massive understeer, although i didn't set up the suspension. TBH, I don't feel that street production Ferrari's are great on track out of the box.

I'm hoping the Performante is.

Performante Spyder is soft top. how many kg is LP610-4 Spyder heavier than the Coupe? Around 100 kg? I wonder how the ALA will work on the convertible. The P Spyder will defo be a lot heavier than the Coupe.

Doubtful.

It's still another street car that ultimately has to protect owners from themselves.

Even the super hardcore Ferrari F50 had understeer.

If production Ferraris out of the box stock leave something to be desired, then let's be realistic, Lambos on the track will usually be worse.

Not hate, just reality. AWD.

I think those 911 GT3 type cars and the Carrera GT are the real deal for track purists. Carrera GT widowmaker, a true unicorn of street cars needing nothing for the track (or so I'm told).

Now the Lotus Exige is a purpose built track car even over the Elise....very light and naturally track focused. That's what it's all about, and it makes a ton of compromises to do so which is why not many people own them. I'd expect it to be better than a run of the mill Ferrari.

I wouldn't expect most exotics to outdo an Elise or a Caterham 7 on the track when they weigh so much more and actually have compromises for ride quality and the like.

Are people bothering with the 'Dark Chrome Package'?

I specced my car yesterday but thought £2,200 for some darker switches was excessive. It does look better but not sure if it's worth it.
